Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan social media engagement dengan subjective well-being pada mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Bandung. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 300 mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen Social Media Engagement Scale (SME-S) untuk mengukur social media engagement, Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) dan Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) untuk mengukur subjective well-being. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif antara social media engagement dengan subjective well-being pada mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Bandung dengan nilai koefisien korelasi Pearson sebesar 0,129. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, nilai derajat hubungan berada dalam kategori rendah karena 0,129 (> 0 – 0,25). This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social media engagement and subjective well-being among students at the Indonesia University of Education. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a correlation design. Participants in this study were 300 students of Indonesia University of Education. The instruments used are the Social Media Engagement Scale (SME-S) instrument to measure social media engagement, Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) to measure subjective well-being. The data analysis technique used is Pearson Product Moment. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between social media engagement and subjective well-being of students at the Indonesia University of Education with value of Pearson correlation coefficient is 0.129 (> 0 – 0,25).
