Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Kemampuan literasi awal anak yang belum sesuai harapan serta adanya tuntutan untuk mengenalkan membaca dan menulis pada anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui kondisi literasi awal anak usia dini sebelum menggunakan kegiatan read aloud, (2) untuk mengetahui pembelajaran yang dilakukan untuk mengenalkan literasi awal pada anak usia dini dan (3) untuk mengetahui kondisi literasi awal anak usia dini setelah menggunakan kegiatan read aloud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, adapun data yang diperoleh merupakan hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelompok A di TK SW dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 9 anak yang berusia 4-5 tahun. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat beberapa tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Kondisi awal kemampuan mengenal literasi awal anak pada umumnya masih rendah yaitu kemampuan mengenal literasi awal anak yang Belum Berkembang (BB) sekitar 11,11%, Mulai Berkembang (MB) 88,89% sedangkan anak yang Berkembang Sesuai Harapan dan Berkembang Sangat Baik Masih belum ada. Pada siklus ketiga rata-rata secara keseluruhan 61,11% (BSH), Siklus keempat 69,44% (BSH) dan siklus kelima 77,78% (BSB). Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan bahwa kegiatan read aloud dapat direkomendasikan bagi pendidik untuk mengenbangkan kemampuan mengenal literasi awal pada anak usia dini. Kata Kunci: Literasi Awal, Read Aloud ----- This research is motivated by the early literacy abilities of children who have not met expectations and the demands to introduce reading and writing to children. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the condition of early childhood literacy before using read aloud activities, (2) to determine the learning carried out to introduce early literacy to early childhood and (3) to determine the condition of early childhood literacy. after using the read aloud activity. The research method used is classroom action research, while the data obtained are the results of observations, interviews and documentation. This research was conducted in group A in SW Kindergarten with the number of research subjects 9 children aged 4-5 years. In this study there are several stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The initial condition of the ability to recognize children's early literacy is generally still low, namely the ability to recognize early literacy of children who have not developed (BB) around 11.11%, Starting to Develop (MB) 88.89% while children who develop according to expectations and develop very well still not there is. In the third cycle the overall average was 61.11% (BSH), the fourth cycle was 69.44% (BSH) and the fifth cycle was 77.78% (BSB). From the results of research that has been done that read aloud activities can be recommended for educators to develop the ability to recognize early literacy in early childhood.
