Abstract

Kemampuan literasi sains penting untuk dimiliki siswa pada abad ke 21 yang tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan. Sains berperan besar dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan umat manusia dan diharapkan menjadi bekal siswa saat menghadapi kompetisi global yang semakin meningkat dan semakin menuntut kualitas manusia yang berkemampuan dalam teknologi. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan literasi sains adalah melalui analisis buku teks pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat literasi ilmiah yang disajikan dalam buku siswa yang menekankan pada aspek literasi ilmiah meliputi: sains sebagai batang tubuh pengetahuan, sains sebagai jalan untuk menyelidiki, sains sebagai cara berpikir dan interaksi sains, teknologi dan masyarakat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan mengumpulkan data berupa studi dokumentasi. Sumber data penelitian adalah buku tematik siswa kelas V tema 9 tentang Benda-Benda di Sekitar Kita. Analisis menggunakan instrumen yang diadopsi dari Chiappetta, Sethna dan Filman di Padayachee. Hasil analisis menunjukkan temuan penting yaitu aspek ilmu sebagai tubuh pengetahuan yang memiliki persentase tertinggi dari tiga aspek dan tidak semua indikator aspek yang ditemukan dalam buku siswa. Science literacy skills are important for students in the 21st century that are inseparable from life. Science plays a major role in improving the welfare of mankind and is expected to be a provision for students when facing increasing global competition and increasingly demanding human qualities that are capable of technology. One of the efforts to improve scientific literacy is through analysis of textbooks. This study aims to determine the level of scientific literacy presented in student books that emphasize aspects of scientific literacy including: science as a body of knowledge, science as a way to investigate, science as a way of thinking and the interaction of science, technology and society. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research, by collecting data in the form of documentation studies. The source of the research data is the thematic book for fifth grade students on theme 9 about the objects around us. The analysis uses instruments adopted from Chiappetta, Sethna and Filman at Padayachee. The results of the analysis show important findings, namely the aspect of science as a body of knowledge which has the highest percentage of the three aspects and not all aspect indicators are found in students' books.
