Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menjelaskan kesalahan penggunaan kalimat efektif dalam karangan eksposisi siswa kelas V SDN Kebon Dalem yang terdiri dari pemakaian struktur kalimat efektif, SPOK, konjungsi, dan tanda baca. Subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas V SDN Kebon Dalem sebanyak 17 anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang diambil ialah wawancara dan dokumen tertulis berupa karangan eksposisi siswa. Diperoleh hasil analisis yang menetapkan dalam penulisan karangan eksposisi peserta didik cukup bagus, karena dilihat dari letak kesalahan yang tidak banyak dilakukan siswa. Kesalahan penggunaan kalimat efektif secara keseluruhan terdapat 5 kesalahan tertinggi dari pemakaian struktur kalimat efektif termasuk SPOK, 3 kesalahan tertinggi dari pemakaian konjungsi, dan 5 kesalahan tertinggi penggunaan tanda baca. Kesalahan tersebut dinilai sedikit karena masing-masing siswa membuat karangan sebanyak 3 paragraf dalam 10-12 kalimat. Kata kunci: Kalimat Efektif, Karangan Eksposisi This study aims to describes error in the use of effective sentence in exposition essay in fifth grade of Kebon Dalem elementary school which consist of using effective sentence structures, SPOK, conjunctions, and punctuation marks. This study used qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is the fifth grade of Kebon Dalem elementary school as much as seventeen students. The research instrumen used in the form of interviews and written documents in the form of student expositions essays. The results showed that the student’s exposition essays writting was good, because it was seen from the disposition of the mistakes that were not made by students. Disposition errors in the use of effective sentence as a whole there are five higher errors in the use of effective sentence structures including SPOK, three higher errors in the use of conjunctions and five higher error in the use of punctuation marks. The errors was assessed slightly because each student made an essay of three paragraphs and ten until twelve sentence. Keyword: Effective Sentence, Exposition Essay
