Abstract

Menulis merupakan salah satu cara manusia menerima dan memberikan informasi kepada manusia lainnya dengan media tulis. Salah satu kemampuan menulis yang termuat di dalamnya yaitu kemampuan menulis karangan narasi. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis karangan narasi karena kecilnya minat menulis dikalangan siswa sekolah dasar. Ada beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan siswa kurang terampil dalam menulis karangan narasi, yaitu faktor eksternal maupun internal. Rendahnya keterampilan menulis narasi siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar membutuhkan upaya perbaikan yang nantinya akan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis narasi, salah satunya dengan mengganti atau memperbaharui strategi pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini memilih strategi pembelajaran mind mapping untuk dapat menarik dan meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu one-group pre-test and post-test dengan subjek penelitian kelas IV sekolah dasar di kecamatan Tanggulun, Subang. Instrumen penelian yang digunakan yaitu lembar tes dan lembar wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu strategi pembelajaran mind mapping memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa. Hasil tersebut didapat berdasarkan uji rata-rata, uji regresi linier sederhana, uji N-Gain dan effect size. Maka strategi pembelajaran mind mapping dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan menulis karangan narasi kelas IV sekolah dasar. ----- Writing is a way for humans to receive and provide information to other humans using written media. One of the writing skills contained in it is the ability to write narrative essays. This research is motivated by the low skills of writing narrative essays because of the small interest in writing among elementary school students. There are several factors that cause students to be less skilled at writing narrative essays, namely external and internal factors. The low level of students' narrative writing skills in Indonesian Class IV Elementary School subjects requires improvement efforts which will later be able to improve students' abilities and skills in writing narratives, one of which is by replacing or updating their learning strategies. This study chose a mind mapping learning strategy to be able to attract and improve narrative essay writing skills. The research design used is a one-group pre-test and post-test with the research subjects being grade IV elementary schools in Tanggulun sub-district, Subang. The research instruments used are test sheets and interview sheets. The results of the research obtained show that mind mapping learning strategies have an influence on students' narrative essay writing skills. These results were obtained based on the average test, simple linear regression test, N-Gain test and effect size. Then the mind mapping learning strategy can be applied to improve the ability to write narrative essays for grade IV elementary school.
