Abstract
The halal industry is growing rapidly in several sectors, including finance, food, cosmetics, travel, fashion, medicine, media and entertainment, as well as other sectors such as healthcare and education. However, this huge market potential has not been maximized by the Indonesian government, evidenced by Indonesia not entering the top 10st for the halal food producer category. This proves the optimal management of the halal food industry in Indonesia. Thus, to manage the halal food industry requires an innovation of the supply chain process in halal food called halal food supply chain (HFSC). The purpose of this research in general is to test the theory of the Theory Technology-Organizational-Environment Framework (TOE) which is to analyze technological factors, organizational factors and environmental factors on the performance of halal food business and its implications for businesspeople in adopting HFSC. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling-quota sampling with a population of owners and workers in the halal food business in Bandung as many as 80 respondents. The methods used in this research are quantitative methods. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results of this study indicate that the variables of technological factors, organizational factors and environmental factors have a high level of performance in the halal food business. In addition, the technological factor variable has a positive and significant effect on the performance of the halal food business, except for organizational factors and environmental factors which have a negative effect. This research is expected to provide benefits for businesspeople in Indonesia, especially halal food businesses in the city of Bandung to improve the performance of the halal food business.
