Abstract
Berita politik cenderung dianggap membosankan dan tidak menarik bagi generasi milenial, hal tersebut mengakibatkan rendahnya literasi politik generasi milenial. Instagram sebagai salah satu platform media sosial yang sangat populer di kalangan masyarakat umum khususnya generasi milenial dapat memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap literasi politik. Sebagai salah satu akun instagram yang sudah memiliki lebih dari 1 juta followers, Tirtoid dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap literasi politik generasi milenial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan terdapat pengaruh antara official account instagram Tirtoid terhadap literasi politik generasi milenial. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dan sampel penelitian berjumlah 100 orang mahasiswa sarjana Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia kampus Bumi Siliwangi yang tergolong dalam usia generasi milenial. Dalam penelitian ini, Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1). Berdasarkan hasil penenelitian, menunjukan generasi milenial berpandangan bahwa official account instagram Tirtoid merupakan akun berita dan edukasi politik di instagram. Penyampaian informasi yang disajikan oleh official account instagram Tirtoid sangat menarik bagi generasi milenial dan juga gaya bahasa official account instagram Tirtoid sesuai dengan usia milenial dan mudah difahami. Lebih lanjut, penggunaan infografis yang merupakan ciri khas dalam setiap postingan official account instagram Tirtoid dapat menambah daya tarik bagi kaum milenial; 2). Pengaruh official account instagram Tirtoid terhadap literasi politik dilihat dari informasi yang disajikan, penggunaan infografis dan penggunaan gaya bahasa menunjukan bahwa official account instagram Tirtoid berkontribusi dalam memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap literasi politik generasi milenial; 3) Terdapat tiga elemen atau parameter literasi politik yang dapat diukur dan diidentifikasi. Pertama ialah pengetahuan politik. Kedua, kesadaran politik dan yang ketiga ialah partisipasi politik. Kata Kunci: Official Account Instagram Tirtoid, Literasi Politik, Generasi Milenial ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF OFFICIAL ACCOUNT INSTAGRAM TIRTOID ON THE POLITICAL LITERACY OF THE THE MILLENNIAL GENERATION Political news tends to be considered boring and unattractive for the millennial generation, and also results in low political literacy of the millennial generation. Instagram as a social media platform is very popular among the general public, especially the millennial generation, can have a positive influence on political literacy. As an Instagram account that already has more than 1 million followers, Tirtoid can have a positive impact on the political literacy of the millennial generation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The main purpose of this study is to prove that there is an influence between official accounts Instagram Tirtoid on the political literacy of the millennial generation. This research is located at the Indonesia University of Education and the research sample is 100 undergraduate students at the Indonesia University of Education on the Bumi Siliwangi campus who are classified as the millennial generation. In this study, the results showed that: 1). Based on the results of the study, it shows that the point of view of millennial generation about official account Instagram Tirtoid is a news and political education account on Instagram. The information presented by official account style of official account istagram Tirtoid is suitable for millennials and is easy to understand. Furthermore, the use of infographics that are the hallmark of every post on official account instagram Tirtoid can add to the attraction for millennials; 2). The influence of official account instagram Tirtoid on the political literacy seen from the information which presented by Tirtoid, the infographics and the style of language on Tirtoid shows that official account instagram Tirtoid contributes to giving a good influence on the political literacy of the millennial generation; 3) There are three elements or parameters of political literacy that can be measured and identified, namely political knowledge, political awareness, and political participation.
