Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya tingkat pengangguran terbuka (TPT) masyarakat lulusan perguruan tinggi dan efek pandemi covid-19 terhadap ekonomi dan kepastian karier masyarakat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menggambarkan perbedaan optimisme karier mahasiswa berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi keluarga. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif komparatif dengan desain survei melalui instrumen kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa FIP UPI angkatan 2017 Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 yang ditentukan sampelnya menggunakan teknik convenience sampling, dengan menjangkau sampel yang paling mudah diakses dan bersedia menjadi partisipan berjumlah 92 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner optimisme karier dan data status sosial ekonomi menggunakan format isian mengenai pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan pendapatan orang tua yang disebar secara daring. Pemodelan Rasch (Rasch Model) digunakan untuk menganalisis perbandingan dengan menguji probability value (p-value) menggunakan aplikasi Winstep. Hasil penelitian menunjukan secara umum optimisme karier mahasiswa FIP UPI angkatan 2017 Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 berada pada kategori sangat optimis. Selanjutnya hasil analisis perbandingan menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan optimisme karier mahasiswa berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi keluarga. Rekomendasi penelitian bagi BKPK yaitu dalam meningkatkan optimisme karier mahasiswa dapat diberikan layanan karier yang berfokus pada konsep diri, self-efficacy, dan faktor internal lain tanpa melihat latar belakang sosial ekonomi keluarga. This research is motivated by the high level of open unemployment (TPT) for college graduates and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, and the certainty of people's careers. The study aimed to describe differences in student career optimism based on family socioeconomic status. The method used is descriptive comparative survey design through a questionnaire instrument. The population in this study were FIP UPI students class 2017 for the 2020/2021 academic year whose samples were determined using the convenience sampling technique by reaching the most accessible sample and willing to become participants totaling 92 students. The data collection technique used a career optimism questionnaire and socioeconomic status data using a fill-in format regarding parents' education, occupation, and income distributed online. Rasch modeling (Rasch Model) is used to analyze the comparison by testing the probability value (p-value) using the Winstep application. The study results show that, in general, the career optimism of FIP UPI students for the 2017 academic year for the 2020/2021 academic year is in the very optimistic category. Furthermore, the results of the comparative analysis showed that there was no difference in student career optimism based on the socioeconomic status of the family. The research recommendation for BKPK is that in increasing student career optimism, career services can be provided that focus on self-concept, self-efficacy, and other internal factors regardless of family socioeconomic background.
