Abstract
ABSTRAK Keterampilan menyimak merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang penting untuk dikuasai, khususnya siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, keterampilan menyimak masih dianggap sebagai keterampilan yang tidak menyenangkan dan cenderung membosankan. Sehingga dari latar belakang tersebut, peneliti tertarik mengetahui keterampilan menyimak serta mengetahui faktor penyebab kesulitan menyimak siswa kelas V SDN 1Nagrikaler Kecamatan Purwakarta Kabupaten Purwakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan menyimak serta mendeskripsikan faktor penyebab kesulitan menyimak siswa dengan menggunakan media audio visual, sebagai salah satu media yang dianggap dapat menggurangi kurangnya minat menyimak dan rasa bosan ketika melakukan kegiatan menyimak serta dapat membuat siswa menyimak dengan baik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek yang diteliti yaitu berjumlah 14 orang siswa. Hasil penetitian ditemukan bahwa keterampilan menyimak siswa kelas V SDN 1 Nagrikaler setelah diberikan tes hasilnya cukup baik. Hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata keterampilan menyimak siswa menggunakan media audio visual adalah 80,14. Selain itu juga ditemukan berapa temuan dari hasil wawancara terhadap ke 14 subjek penelitian, masih didapatkan kesulitan menyimak menggunakan media audio visual yaitu, siswa masih menganggap kegiatan menyimak cenderung membosankan serta siswa kesulitan mengingat beberapa hal penting yang terdapat pada cerita yang telah disimak. ----- ABSTRACK Listening skill is an important skill to be mastered, especially for elemetary school students. However, listening skill is still cocidered as an unpleasant skill and tends to be boring. So from this background, researchers are interserted in knowing listening skills and knowing the factors that caus difficulty in listening to fifth grade student at SDN 1 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta District, Purwakarta Regency. Thist study aims to describe listening skill and describe the factors that cause students’ listening difficuties using audio visual media, as one of the media that is considered to be able to reduce the lack of interest in listening and boredom when doing listening activities and can make students listen well. The research method used is by using a qualitative descriptive approach with the subject under studu that is 14 students. The results of the study found that the listening skills of the fifth grade students of SDN 1 Nagrikaler after being given the test were quite good. This can be seen from the average listening skill of studends using audio visual media is 80,14. In addition, it was also found how many findings from the interviews of the 14 research subjects, there were still difficulties in listening using audio visual media, namely, students still thought listening activities tended to be boring and students had diffuculty remembering some important things contained in the stories they had listened to.
