Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil pra penelitian yang penulis lakukan di SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI). Penulis menemukan adanya masalah dalam pembelajarn IPS di kelas VIII E, yaitu rendahnya kerjasama dalam kelompok. Hal ini terlihat ketika proses diskusi pada pembelajaran IPS berlangsung diantaranya Pertama, ada beberapa siswa tidak mampu menerima pendapat teman sekelompoknya dalam memecahkan masalah. Kedua, pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung terutama saat diskusi sedang berjalan tidak semua siswa yang tergabung dalam kelompok ikut serta menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan guru. Ketiga, saat diskusi sedang berlangsung, siswa yang dianggap pandai harus bekerja ekstra melebihi siswa yang lainnya dalam satu kelompoknya. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka penulis menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Students Teams Achievement Divissions (STAD) untuk meningkatkan kerjasama dalam kelompok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan pendakatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Adapun instrumen penelitian yang digunakan peneliti yaitu lembar panduan observasi, catatan lapangan, rubrik, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VIII E SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di kelas VIII E SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI menunjukkan bahwa (1) Rancangan dalam menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD ini antara lain peneliti melakukan diskusi dengan guru mitra sebagai upaya menyusun langkah yang benar sesuai dengan pembelajaran yang sedang berlangsung. (2) Pelaksanaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada penelitian ini guru menjelaskan materi yang akan dipelajari hari itu, kemudian guru langsung membagi kelompok sesuai dengan hasil belajar. Masing- masing kelompok terdiri dari 4- 5 orang. Guru membagikan LKS untuk dikerjakan oleh masing- masing kelompok dan hasil pekerjaan kelompok tersebut dipresentasikan di depan teman- teman. Kelompok yang sedang melakukan presentasi mempersilakan kelompok lain untuk bertanya atau menyanggah. (3) Kendala- kendala yang dihadapi saat penelitian adalah sulitnya menentukan materi yang sesuai, mengingat SK/KD IPS pada saat ini belum terpadu secara utuh, dimana SK/KD menonjolkan disiplin ilmu sosial tertentu. Sebaiknya IPS yang diterapkan dipersekolahan sudah terpadu secara utuh karena akan mempermudah dalam mengkaji masalah sosial. (4) mengupayakan agar hambatan- hambatan dapat diatasi, yaitu guru sebaiknya menjadi fasilitator dan memonitoring seluruh kelompok supaya kelompok tergugah hatinya untuk menjadikan kelompoknya yang terbaik dalam setiap kerjasama dan performancenya. Kata Kunci : Students Teams Achievement Divissions (STAD), Kerjasama ABSTRACT This research was motivated from the results of pre-research by the writer in the Junior Pilot Laboratory UPI). The researcher found a learning problem in social science in VIII E. The problem is the low cooperation in the group of learning. It could be seen the process of discussion in social science occurred in three states. Firstly, there are some students are not able to accept the opinion of others in solving the problem. Second, during the learning process especially when the discussion was running, not all students were engaging their group to complete the assigned task. Third, while the discussion was in progress, the high achievers must work extra exceeding the others in the group. To overcome those problems, the researcher applied a cooperative learning method, namely Students Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD), to promote cooperation within the groups. The method used in this study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), with both of qualitative and quantitative approaches. The instruments used in this study were guide observation sheets, field notes, rubrics, and documentation study. The research was carried out in class VIII E, SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. The research resulted that: (1) the draft implementing the STAD method was the researcher discussed the setting of the pace with the tutor teacher as efforts which would be properly aligned steps with ongoing learning; (2) the implementation of STAD cooperative learning method in this study was the teacher explains the material taught in that day, then the teacher immediately divided the class into groups according to the learning result. Each group consists of four or five people. Teacher handed out the worksheets to be done by each group. The results of the work were presented in front of a group of friends. Groups who were presenting invite other groups to question or refute. (3) The constraints faced by the current research were the difficulty in determining the appropriate materials, recalling that the Competency Standard and Basic Competency in social science subject has not been fully integrated, whereas the Competency Standard and Basic Competency accentuated a particular social science disciplines. The social science applied in the school should be integrated as a whole because it will make it easier to examine social issues. (4) to overcome the barriers, the teacher should be a facilitator and monitor the entire group so that the group could motivated themselves to make the best group in each partnership and performance.
