Abstract

Latar belakang dilaksanakan penelitian ini yaitu disebabkan karena masih rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu menganalisis hasil kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi berdasarkan media gambar pada siswa kelas VA sekolah dasar. Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan menulis karangan deskripsi pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Mendeskripsikan solusi yang diterapkan untuk mengatasi menulis karangan deskripsi pada siswa kelas VA sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif kualitatif terhadap 10 siswa kelas VA disalah satu SD di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi karangan deskripsi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kemampuan karangan deskripsi siswa tergolong cukup. Dilihat dari nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa kelas VA secara umum yaitu pada kategori sangat baik (85-100) sejumlah 3 siswa sebesar 30%, kategori baik (70-84) sejumlah 1 siswa sebesar 10%, setelah itu kategori cukup (55-69) sejumlah 5 siswa sebesar 50%, dan serta kategori kurang (40-54) sejumlah 1 siswa sebesar 10%. ----- The background of this research is due to the low ability of students in writing descriptive essays. The purpose of the study was to analyze the results of students' abilities in writing descriptive essays based on picture media in grade Va elementary school students. Knowing the factors that cause difficulties in writing descriptive essays in fifth grade elementary school students. Describing the solutions applied to overcome writing descriptive essays in grade Va elementary school students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative analysis of 10 grade Va students in one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta Regency. Data collection techniques used tests, interviews, and documentation of student descriptions. Based on the results of the research, the students' ability to write descriptions is quite sufficient. Judging from the average value obtained by class Va students in general, namely in the very good category (85-100) a total of 3 students by 30%, in the good category (70-84) a number of 1 student by 10%, after that the category is sufficient (55 -69) a total of 5 students by 50%, and as well as a less category (40-54) as many as 1 student by 10%
