Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Munjul Jaya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu, untuk mengetahui bagaimana minat membaca pada siswa, dan faktor pendukung dan penghambat minat membaca pada siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek atau populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tinggi (VC) yang berjumlah 6 orang. Setelah dianalisis diketahui persentase minat membaca siswa secara keseluruhan adalah 60%, dan dapat diketahui faktor pendukung minat membaca siswa adalah kesadaran anak, suasana yang menyenangkan, serta adanya dukungan dari lingkungan sekitar, sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah guru kurang memberi motivasi yang dapat menumbuhkan minat baca siswa, rasa malas yang dimiliki sebagian siswa, serta kurangnya pemahaman siswa akan pentingnya membaca. Untuk mengembangkan minat membaca siswa, memerlukan upaya seperti, menumbuhkan rasa senang terhadap bacaan, dan memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa minat membaca siswa sekolah dasar negeri 2 munjul jaya dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Minat baca siswa, Sekolah dasar ----- This research was conducted at the State Elementary School 2 Munjul Jaya. The purpose of this study is to find out how students are interested in reading, and the supporting and inhibiting factors for reading interest in students. This research method is a case study. The research approach used is qualitative research. The subjects or population in this study were high grade students (V C), totaling 6 people. The object of this research is the students' interest in reading. Data collection tools in this study were in the form of observation sheets, interview sheets, and documentation. After being analyzed, it is known that the percentage of students' reading interest as a whole is 60%, and it can be seen that the supporting factors for students' interest in reading are children's awareness, a pleasant atmosphere, and the support from the surrounding environment, while the inhibiting factor is the teacher's lack of motivation that can foster students' reading interest. , a sense of laziness that some students have, as well as a lack of student understanding of the importance of reading. To develop students' interest in reading, it requires efforts such as, fostering a sense of pleasure in reading, so that reading activities are not just an obligation but a hobby for students and provide students with an understanding that reading is important. Thus, it can be seen that the reading interest of the students of State Elementary School 2 is in the moderate category.
