Abstract

Matematika merupakan salah satu muatan wajib pada kurikulum pendidikan dasar. Salah satu kemampuan matematis yang termuat didalamnya yaitu kemampuan berhitung matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya skor kemampuan berhitung siswa kelas II di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri di Kabupaten Purwakarta. Operasi hitung yang masih tergolong sulit untuk anak Kelas II yaitu perkalian yang sebelumnya telah diberikan oleh wali kelas pada semester 1, akan tetapi siswa masih kurang paham cara menghitung dan mengerjakannya. Atas dasar tersebut peneliti mencoba dan mengajarkan mengenai materi perkalian yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dengan bantuan benda manipulatif yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media dalam pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian Pre Eksperimenal dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 20 siswa. Bentuk tes yang digunakan yaitu tes uraian dengan jumlah 10 soal. Tes dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 kali, yaitu petest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas uji-t, uji N-Gain derta uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, rata-rata pretest yang telah dilaksanakan yaitu mendapatkan nilai 6,50, setelah diberikan treatment rata- rata posttest yaitu 7,70. Setelah diberi perlakuan hasil rata-rata posttest pemahaman konsep siswa mengalami peningkatan, hal tersebut ditunjukan dengan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,4158 berada pada kategori sedang. Serta berdasarkan hasil regresi linier sederhana, diketahui bahwa pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan benda manipulatif memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berhitung matematis sebesar 91,8%. Dengan demikian, pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan benda manipulatif berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berhitung matematis siswa kelas II di SD Negeri Tegalmunjul 1 Kabupaten Purwakarta. ---- Mathematics is one of the mandatory content in the basic education curriculum. One of the mathematical abilities contained in it is the ability to calculate the math of students. This research was motivated by the low score of the ability to count grade II students in one of the public elementary schools in Purwakarta Regency. The counting operation that is still considered difficult for Grade II children is multiplication that has previously been given by the homeroom teacher in semester 1, but students still do not understand how to calculate and do it. On that basis, researchers try and teach about multiplication material by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with the help of manipulative objects that can be used as a medium in learning. The type of research used is Pre-Experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was as many as 20 students. The form of test used is a description test with a total of 10 questions. The test was conducted 2 times, namely petest and posttest, then analyzed using normality test, t-test homogeneity test, N-Gain derta simple linear regression test. The results showed that, the average pretest that has been carried out is getting a score of 6.50, after being given the average posttest treatment is 7.70. After being treated the average results of posttest understanding of student concepts improved, it was shown that the average N-Gain score of 0.4158 was in the moderate category. And based on simple linear regression results, it is known that a contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach assisted by manipulative objects has an influence on mathematical numeracy ability of 91.8%. Thus, contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach assisted by manipulative objects affects the mathematical counting ability of grade II students at SD Negeri Tegalmunjul 1 Purwakarta Regency.
