Abstract
Bahasa Indonesia memiliki peran pentinggdalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Keterampilan berbahasa terdiri dari empat keterampilan, yaitu keterampilan menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh metode Show and Tell terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa pada siswa kelas III. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh penliti yaitu penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu teknik puposive sampling. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Sampel yang diteliti yaitu sebanyak 25 siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tes lisan dengan bercerita dan wawancara kepada guru serta siswa. kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis pretest-posttest, nilai regresi linear dan nilai N-Gain. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukan bahwa, rata-rata nilai pretest atau saat sebelum diberikan perlakuan yaitu sebesar 62,4 dan rata-rata saat posttest atau setelah diberikan perlakuan yaitu sebesar 82,36. Dari hasil analisis datayang telah dilakukan didapat hasil uji regresi linear yaitu sebesar 50,4% dan uji N-Gain berada pada kategori sedang, yang mana dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara siswa mengalami peningkatan yang cukup. Dengan demikian, metode Show and Tell berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. ----- Indonesian has an important role in everyday life. Language skills consist of four skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The study was conducted with the aim of finding out how much influence the Show and Tell method has on students' speaking skills in grade III students. The type of research used by researchers is pre-experimental research using one group pretest-posttest design design. The sampling technique used is the puposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were grade III elementary school students.Data collection in this study was conducted with oral tests with storytelling and interviews to teachers and students. It is then analyzed using pretest-posttest analysis, linear regression values and N-Gain values. The results of the study showed that, the average pretest value or the time before being given treatment was 62.4 and the average when posttest or after being given treatment was 82.36. From the results of the data analysis that has been done obtained the results of linear regression tests are 50.4% and the N-Gain test is in the moderate category, which can be concluded that students' speaking skills have increased sufficiently. Thus, the Show and Tell method affects students' speaking skills.
