Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh munculnya kasus siswa disalah satu sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Purwakarta, kasus tersebut yaitu siswa yang belum dapat memahami materi mengenal lambang bilangan. Siswa tersebut hanya dapat menyebutkan bilangan namun tidak dapat menuliskan nama dan lambang bilangan. ketika guru memberikan penjelasan materi lambang bilangan ataupun guru bertanya mengenai lambang bilangan kepada siswa, siswa justru hanya diam dan tidak memahami materi yang diberikan guru mengenai materi mengenal lambang bilangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan pada siswa kelas I di sekolah dasar. Selain itu tujuan lainnya yaitu menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab siswa belum memahami materi lambang bialangan pada siswa kelas I sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu tiga siswa yang berada disalah satu sekolah dasar di kabupaten Purwakarta. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2021. Teknik Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu, teknik tes kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan, teknik wawancara, dan teknik dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan, pertama kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan siswa kelas I termasuk kedalam tiga kategori, yaitu tinggi, rendah, sangat tinggi. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah kurangnya motivasi belajar dari keluarga khususnya orang tua, dan motivasi siswa menurun diakibatkan karena pembelajaran daring atau dalam jaringan. ----- This research was motivated by the emergence of the case of students in one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta Regency, the case was students who had not been able to understand the material about recognizing number symbols. The student can only mention numbers but cannot write names and symbols for numbers. when the teacher gives an explanation of the number symbol material or the teacher asks students about the number symbol, the students just stay silent and do not understand the material given by the teacher regarding the material about recognizing number symbols This study aims to analyze the ability to recognize number symbols in grade I students in elementary school. In addition, another goal is to analyze the factors that cause students to not understand the number symbol material in first grade elementary school students. This research is a qualitative research using case study type. The research subjects are three students who are in one elementary school in Purwakarta district. Data collection was carried out in May 2021. The data collection techniques used were the ability test technique to recognize number symbols, interview techniques, and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the study, firstly, the ability to recognize number symbols of class I students is included in three categories, namely high, low, very high. One of the influencing factors is the lack of motivation to learn from families, especially parents, and decreased student motivation due to online or online learning.
