Abstract

Penguasaan konsep dan jaringan semantik siswa merupakan dua hal penting yang dapat menunjang proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan jaringan semantik siswa setelah diberikan pembelajaran Level of Inquiry sampai tahap inquiry labs dan tahap real world application. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan rancangan quasi-eksperimental design yang melibatkan 72 orang siswa sebagai sampel dengan teknik convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pilihan ganda penguasaan konsep dengan nilai Alpha Cronbach 0,83 (bagus sekali), tes essay jaringan semantik siswa, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis Rasch, uji hipotesis beda dua rata-rata kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, serta analisis jaringan semantik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan. Hasil analisis dari uji hipotesis beda dua rata-rata kelas disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis pretest jaringan semantik siswa pada kontrol ditemukan 3 kata kunci dengan frekuensi yang kecil untuk mewakili tentang konsep momentum dan impuls, serta pada posttest ditemukan bertambah menjadi 10 kata kunci dengan frekuensi kemunculan lebih besar sedangkan hasil analisis pretest jaringan semantik siswa pada kelas eksperimen ditemukan 3 kata kunci dengan frekuensi yang kecil untuk mewakili tentang konsep momentum dan impuls, serta pada posttest ditemukan bertambah menjadi 11 kata kunci dengan frekuensi kemunculan lebih besar. The purpose of this study was to identify the improvement of students' concept mastery and semantic networks after being given a Learning Level of Inquiry to the inquiry labs and real world-application stages The research method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design that involving 72 students as a sample with convenience sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a multiple-choice test for concepts mastery with a score of Cronbach Alpha 0.83 (very good), a student semantic network essay test, and a learning implementation observation sheet. Data were analyzed using Rasch analysis, two different hypothesis testing, the average of the experimental and control classes, and semantic network analysis. The results of this study indicated that overall average of students' concepts mastery of the experimental class and control class has increased. The results analysis of the two different hypothesis test had different averages which concluded there was no significant differences between the increase in the concept mastery of the experimental class and the control class. The results of the pretest analysis from the semantic network of students in the control found 3 keywords with a small frequency to represent the concept of momentum and impulse, and in the posttest it was found to increase to 10 keywords with a greater frequency of occurrence while the results of the analysis of pretest the semantic network of students in the experimental class found 3 keywords with a small frequency to represent the concept of momentum and impulse, and in the posttest it was found to increase to 11 keywords with a greater frequency of occurrence.
