Abstract

Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran yang penting dan perlu diajarkan kepada siswa. Namun faktanya masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar matematika, terlebih pada masa pandemi Covid-19 yang pembelajarannya dilakukan secara daring. Kesulitan tersebut dapat diatasi manakala diketahui faktor penyebabnya. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitian terkait kesulitan belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring beserta faktor penyebabnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring beserta faktor penyebabnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Sukabumi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal uraian dan instrumen non tes berupa angket serta wawancara dengan siswa dan guru. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan adanya kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami siswa pada saat pembelajaran daring. Adapun jenis kesulitan yang dialami siswa di antaranya adalah: 1) kesulitan memahami konsep, 2) kesulitan dalam bahasa dan membaca permasalahan matematika, dan 3) kesulitan memahami simbol. Selain itu, ditemukan faktor penyebab terjadinya kesulitan belajar yang dialami siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring yang terdiri dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal penyebab kesulitan siswa dalam belajar matematika secara daring, yaitu: 1) motivasi belajar siswa yang masih rendah, dan 2) sikap negatif siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Sedangkan faktor eksternal penyebab kesulitan siswa dalam belajar matematika secara daring, yaitu: 1) cara guru mengajar yang kurang tepat, 2) fasilitas belajar yang kurang memadai, dan 3) faktor keluarga yang kurang memperhatikan dan kurang mendukung siswa dalam proses pembelajaran daring. Mathematics is an important subject and needs to be taught to students. But the fact is that there are still many students who have difficulty learning mathematics, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic where learning is done online. These difficulties can be overcome when the causative factors are known. For this reason, research was carried out related to student learning difficulties in online mathematics learning and the factors causing it. This study aims to describe students' learning difficulties in learning mathematics online and their causal factors. This study uses a qualitative approach, while the research design used is a case study. The subjects of this study were 10th grade students in one of the senior high schools in Sukabumi Regency. Data was collected using test instruments in the form of description questions and non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were difficulties in learning mathematics experienced by students during online learning. The types of difficulties experienced by students include: 1) difficulty understanding concepts, 2) difficulty in language and reading mathematical problems, and 3) difficulty understanding symbols. In addition, it was found that the factors causing learning difficulties experienced by students in online mathematics learning consisted of internal factors and external factors. Internal factors that cause students' difficulties in learning mathematics online, namely: 1) students' learning motivation is still low, and 2) students' negative attitudes towards learning mathematics. While the external factors that cause students' difficulties in learning mathematics online, namely: 1) the teacher's way of teaching is not appropriate, 2) the learning facilities are inadequate, and 3) families who pay less attention and do not support students in the online learning process.
