Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan letak kesalahan konsep limit fungsi aljabar dan faktor penyebab siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam pengerjaan soal limit fungsi aljabar pada masa pandemi. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, angket serta soal uraian limit fungsi aljabar, adapun analisis datanya dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek Penelitian yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 40 siswa kelas XI IPA 3 di SMA Negeri 2 Kota Cirebon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruh siswa melakukan kesalahan saat menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar. Adapun lima kesalahan yang dialami siswa saat menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar adalah kesalahan membaca sebanyak enam siswa, kesalahan memahami soal sebanyak 22 siswa, kesalahan transformasi sebanyak 17 siswa, kesalahan keterampilan proses sebanyak lima siswa, dan kesalahan jawaban akhir sebanyak 22 siswa. Untuk faktor penyebab siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar adalah : (1) kurangnya pemahaman konsep limit fungsi aljabar, (2) salah dalam melakukan perkalian sekawan, (3) salah dalam menyederhanakan bentuk aljabar, (4) siswa sering melakukan kecerobohan, (5) motivasi dan antusias siswa dalam proses pembelajaran masih lemah; (6) kurangnya interaksi antara siswa dengan guru saat pembelajaran berlangsung; (7) lingkungan keluarga dan sekitar yang tidak nyaman; (8) serta permasalahan pengenai pembelajaran daring meliputi keterbatasan kouta internet dan jaringan yang tidak stabil, ketersediaan gawai yang memadai, dan masalah teknis saat pembelajaran daring. Kata Kunci: Limit Fungsi Aljabar, Metode Newman, Pendemi Covid-19. This study aims to describe the location of the error in the concept of the limit of the algebraic function and the factors that cause students to make mistakes in working on the limit of algebraic functions during the pandemic. This research belongs to the type of qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive research design. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires and the description of the limit of the algebraic function, while the data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Research subjects involved in this study were 40 students of class XI IPA 3 at SMA Negeri 2 Cirebon City. The results showed that almost all students made mistakes when solving the limit problems of algebraic functions. The five errors experienced by students when solving the problem of limiting algebraic functions were six students' reading errors, 22 students' comprehension errors, 17 students' transformation errors, five students' processing skills errors, and 22 students' final answer errors. The factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving algebraic function limit questions are: (1) lack of understanding of the concept of limit algebraic functions, (2) wrong in doing multiplication of companions, (3) wrong in simplifying algebraic forms, (4) students often make carelessness, (5) students' motivation and enthusiasm in the learning process is still weak; (6) lack of interaction between students and teachers during learning; (7) uncomfortable family environment and surroundings; (8) and problems regarding online learning include limited internet quotas and unstable networks, the availability of adequate devices, and technical problems when learning online.   Keywords: Limits of Algebraic Functions, Newman's Method, Covid-19 Pandemic
