    Abstract

    Penulisan artikel ini ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengkaji penggunaan bahasa argot yang muncul di dalam novel Une Seconde Chance Karya Patrick Cauvin dengan menggunakan teori semantik melalui pendekatan makna leksikal dan makna kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat beberapa bentuk bahasa argot di dalam novel Une Seconde hance Karya Patrick Cauvin, diantaranya l’abréviation, le verlan, la composition dan les emprunts. Kosakata argot berkelas kata nomina merupakan jumlah kosakata argot yang paling banyak digunakan jika dibandingkan dengan kosakata argot berkelas kata verba, ajektiva dan berupa idiom. Di antara beberapa kosakata argot tersebut jika digabungkan ke dalam sebuah kalimat, maka ada yang mengalami perubahan makna dari makna leksikal ke makna kontekstual dan ada juga yang maknanya tetap. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan mahasiswa dapat menambah wawasan mengenai ilmu linguistik, khususnya semantik dan dapat menjadi salah satu referensi bahan ajar bagi pengajar Bahasa Perancis yang diaplikasikan pada mata kuliah Linguistique IV : Sociolinguistique.

    This article is directed to describe and discuss about the usage in argot language which appears in Une Seconde Chance, a novel by Patrick Cauvin, by employing semantic approach namely lexical and contextual meaning. The methods used in this research are descriptive-qualitative method by collecting reference-study and documentary. The result is that there are several form of argot language in Une Seconde Chance, a novel by Patrick Cauvin, namely l’abréviation, le verlan, la composition and les emprunts. The class of argot vocabulary is mostly noun, while the other classes mostly found are verb, adjective and idioms. Among some argot vocabularies, if it is induced into a sentence, the argot is transformed from lexical meaning into contextual meaning while some of them remain. By this research, the students are expected to gain some knowledge about linguistic, particularly semantic and this research is meant to be a teaching reference for French teacher or instructor which also can be applied for Linguistique IV: Sociolinguistique.
