Abstract

Indonesia memiliki ragam budaya dan adat istiadat pernikahan yang berbeda-beda setiap daerah. Salah satu daerah yang masih menggunakan pernikahan adat yaitu Kabupaten Manggarai, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Namun, saat ini pernikahan adat Manggarai sudah hampir terkisis oleh keadaan dan kondisi zaman. Pemikiran masyarakat yang maju dan modern menjadi pemicu tingkat menipisnya penggunaan pernikahan adat yang seharusnya dilestarikan dan digunakan secara turun-temurun. Hal ini juga disebabkan penggunaan ragam bahasa yang menjadi persoalan tersendiri bagi generasi muda pada setap proses pernikaha adat tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan tradisi pernikahan adat pada bagian proses tuturan lamaran yang ditinjau dari segi struktur lamaran, struktur teks, konteks penutur, proses penciptaan, proses pewarisan, fungsi teks, dan pemanfaatannya sebagai buku pengayaan. Adapun metode penelitian yang yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tradisi pernikahan adat dari segi tuturan lamaran ini yaitu struktur teks lamaran yang meliputi sintaksis, bunyi, gaya bahasa, konteks penuturan di dalamnya ada 1) konteks budaya, 2) konteks sosial, 3) konteks situasi, dan 4) konteks ideologi, ko-teks penuturan di dalamnya ada 1) paralinguistik, 2) kinetik, 3) prokesmik dan 4) unsur material, proses penciptaan dan pewarisan, dan nilai budaya terdiri dari 1) nilai religius, 2) nilai tanggung jawab, 3) nilai rasa hormat, 4) nilai kejujuran, 5) nilai komunikatif, 6) nilai kerja keras, dan 7) nilai disiplin diri. Hasil temuan dalam penelitian tuturan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan wawasan kebudayaan dan dijadikan sebagai produk buku pengayaan pengetahuan di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) sebagai sumber bahan bacaan untuk menambah wawasan peserta didik tentang budaya-budaya di Indonesia. Indonesia has a variety of cultures and wedding customs that vary from one region to another. One area that still uses traditional marriage is Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. However, currently the Manggarai traditional marriage has almost been eroded by the circumstances and conditions of the times. The thinking of advanced and modern society is the trigger for the depletion of the use of traditional marriages that should be preserved and used for generations. This is also caused by the use of various languages which become an obstacle for the younger generation in every traditional marriage process. The purpose of this study is to describe the traditional marriage tradition in the part of the application speech process in terms of the structure of the application, the structure of the text, the context of the speaker, the process of creation, the process of inheritance. , the function of the text, and its use as an enrichment book. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that in the traditional marriage tradition in terms of the speech of this application, the structure of the application text which includes syntax, sound, language style, speech context in which there are 1) cultural context, 2) social context, 3) situational context, and 4) ideological context, the narrative context in which there are 1) paralinguistic, 2) kinetic, 3) prokesmic and 4) material elements, the process of creation and inheritance, as well as cultural values contained in 1) religious values, 2) responsibility values, 3 ) the value of respect, 4) the value of honesty, 5) the value of communicative, 6) the value of hard work, and 7) the value of self-discipline. The findings in this speech research are expected to be able to provide cultural insight and be used as a product of knowledge enrichment books in senior high school as a source of reading material to increase students' knowledge about culture in Indonesia.
