Abstract
Matematika terdiri dari berbagai konsep yang bersifat abstrak saling berhubungan sehingga siswa harus memahami konsep sebelumnya terlebih dahulu sebelum memahami konsep selanjutnya. Memahami konsep merupakan kemampuan paling dasar dalam matematika. Sedangkan bangun datar segiempat berisi konsep dasar dari bangun geometri lainnya serta konsepnya banyak ditemukan dan dimanfaatkan dalam kehidupan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep menurut Sumarmo yang telah dikuasai siswa dan bagaimana gambaran pemahaman konsep siswa menurut teori pemahaman Skemp. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes dan non-tes. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan, verifikasi data. Sedangkan keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji kredibilitas menggunakan triangulasi teknik, uji transferabilitas, uji dependabilitas dan uji konfirmabilitas. Berdasarkan instrumen tes, persentase keterpenuhan indikator dari 8 soal berturut-turut 20%, 10%, 45%, 40%, 5%, 10%, 50%, dan 25%. Berdasarkan hasil instrumen non-tes, terdapat 8 orang siswa (40%) memperoleh skor terbanyak, yaitu skor 4. Sedangkan sebanyak 12 orang siswa (60%) memperoleh skor terbanyak, yaitu skor 0 dan 1. Kesimpulannya adalah siswa hanya dapat menguasai 3 dari 8 indikator dengan persentase keterpenuhan 45%, 40%, dan 50%, sedangkan sebanyak 60% siswa masih tergolong jenis pemahaman instrumental. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep, Bangun Datar Segiempat, Teori Pemahaman Skemp. Mathematics consists of various abstract concepts that are interrelated so that students must first understand the previous concept before understanding the next concept. Understanding concepts is the most basic skill in mathematics. Meanwhile, quadrilateral contains the basic concepts of other geometric shapes and their concepts are found and utilized in life. The purpose of this study was to determine the indicators of the ability of understanding concepts according to Sumarmo that have been mastered by students and how to describe students' conceptual understanding according to the Skemp understanding theory. This research method is a qualitative research with a phenomenological design. Data collection using test and non-test instruments. Data analysis in this study is data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions, data verification. While the validity of the data in this study includes the credibility test using technical triangulation, transferability test, dependability test and confirmability test. Based on the test instrument, the percentage of indicator fulfillment from 8 questions was 20%, 10%, 45%, 40%, 5%, 10%, 50%, and 25% respectively. Based on the results of the non-test instrument, there were 8 students (40%) who obtained the most scores, namely a score of 4. While 12 students (60%) received the most scores, namely scores of 0 and 1. The conclusion is that students can only master 3 of 8 indicators with the percentage of fulfillment 45%, 40%, and 50%, while as many as 60% of students are still classified as instrumental understanding types.
