Abstract
Penelitian mengkaji korelasi antara kontrol diri dengan adiksi smartphone pada remaja. Tujuan penelitian adalah memperoleh gambaran tentang hubungan kontrol diri dengan adiksi smartphone pada ramaja yang sedang menempuh pendidikan di kelas IX Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari 171 peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 12 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu probability sampling dan menggunakan jenis sampel simple random sampling. Analisis korelasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistika non-parametik. Teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik spearman rho untuk instrumen kontrol diri maupun adiksi smartphone. Hasil penelitian menunjukan secara umum kontrol diri dan adiksi smartphone peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 12 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan dengan kriteria koefisien korelasi positif. Artinya, semakin tinggi kontrol diri, maka semikin tinggi pula adiksi smartphone.

The study analyzed the correlation between self-control and smartphone addiction in adolescents. The research objective was to obtain a description of the relationship between self-control and smartphone addiction in students who are currently studying in class IX of Junior High School. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample used consisted of 171 grade IX students of SMP Negeri 12 Bandung for the 2020/2021 academic year using a sampling technique, namely probability sampling and using a simple random sampling type. Correlation analysis was performed using non-parametric statistics. The technique used is the Spearman rho technique for self-control instruments and smartphone addiction. The results showed that in general the self- control and smartphone addiction of class IX students of SMP Negeri 12 Bandung in the academic year 2020/2021 were in the medium category. The results of hypothesis testing show that there are criteria that state positive criteria. This means, that the higher the self-control, the higher the smartphone addiction.
