Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pembelajaran yang umumnya masih banyak menerapkan metode ceramah sehingga konsep-konsep kimia kurang disentuh kebermanfaatannya dalam menyelesaikan masalah di kehidupan sehari-hari. Permasalahan kesadahan air sangat dekat dengan siswa, namun sebagian besar siswa tidak mengetahuinya terlebih lagi dalam penanganannya. Oleh karena itu sangat penting untuk diterapkan sebagai topik pembelajaran di Sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai proses dan hasil pembelajaran problem solving tipe Gick dalam konteks penanganan kesadahan air. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluatif yang melibatkan 40 siswa kelas XII IPA pada salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa format penilaian performa guru, format penilaian performa siswa dan butir soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran problem solving tipe Gick dilihat dari performa guru dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan pembelajaran tergolong kategori sangat baik. Dilihat dari performa siswa selama pembelajaran yang ditinjau dari aspek kemampuan pemecahan masalah (kognitif) tergolong kategori baik, sikap selama pembelajaran tergolong sangat baik dan kinerja saat melakukan eksperimen tergolong kurang. Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah sebelum dan setelah dilakukan pembelajaran problem solving dilihat dari peningkatannya pada setiap tahap, yaitu mengidentifikasi, mencari penyelesaian dan menerapkan penyelesaian masalah bagian eksperimen serta evaluasi tergolong kategori sedang. Melihat proses dan hasil pembelajaran problem solving tipe Gick dalam konteks penanganan kesadahan air dari performa guru dan siswa dapat terlaksana dengan baik, layak diterapkan sebagai pembelajaran di Sekolah baik dari segi waktu maupun untuk meningkatkan performa guru dan siswa. Kata kunci: Pemecahan Masalah, Kesadahan Air, Tipe Gick This research is depended on the problem of learning that generally is still applying the lecture method, so that the chemical concepts touchless the advantage in solving problems at daily life. Problems water hardness is very close to the students, but a lot of students do not know what's more to handle. Therefore it is very important to apply as a topic of learning in school. This research aimed to get information on the process of problem solving and learning outcomes of gick type of problem solving in context of handling water hardness. This research is an evaluative study involving 40 students of class XII science on one of high schools in Bandung. The research instrument that used teacher's performance appraisal form, students performance appraisal form and test items. The results showed that the Gick type of learning problem solving looked by the performance of teachers in planning and implementing learning very well classified category. Judging from the performance of the students during the learning aspect in terms of problem-solving abilities (cognitive) belong to either category, the attitude for learning and performance as very good while doing experiments relatively less. The ability of students to solve problems before and after the learning problem solving views of improvement at each stage of identifying, finding a solution and apply problem-solving part of the experiment and evaluation were classified category. Seeing the process of problem solving and learning outcomes in the context of type Gick handling water hardness of the performance of teachers and students can be done well, worth learning in school is applied as well in terms of time as well as to improve the performance of teachers and students.
