Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar belakang penelitian ini ialah bahwa motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor dari keberhasilan peserta didik, dengan adanya motivasi di dalam diri peserta didik maka akan membuat peserta didik lebih giat dalam proses pembelajaran. Motivasi belajar peserta didik di LBPP LIA Ujung Berung beragam, dapat dilihat dari adanya peserta didik yang sangat rajin sehingga memperoleh nilai yang maksimal juga ada peserta didik yang kurang termotivasi dilihat dari absensi yang jarang hadir. Upaya yang dilakukan tutor untuk penguatan motivasi belajar peserta didik ialah meyajikan materi dengan disisipkan permainan agar peserta didik nyaman dan lebih giat dalam belajar. Hal ini membuat peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian lebih mendalam dengan mengangkat judul upaya tutor dalam penguatan motivasi belajar peserta kursus bahasa inggris tingkat menengah di LBPP LIA Ujung Berung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi dari peserta didik, upaya yang dilakukan tutor untuk penguatan motivasi belajar dan faktor pendukung dan penghambat tutor dalam penguatan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah wawancara, observasi, studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Jumlah subjek penelitian ini sebanyak enam orang yaitu satu penyelenggara kursus, dua tutor, dan dua peserta didik kursus. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa, dalam proses pembelajaran sudah berjalan dengan baik, seperti keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran, motivasi belajar peserta didik beragam namun lebih banyak peserta didik dengan motivasi belajar yang cukup besar. Upaya-upaya yang sudah dilakukan tutor untuk penguatan motivasi belajar peserta didik seperti: menjelaskan tujuan belajar kepada peserta didik, penggunaan media juga alat untuk menunjang pembelajaran, memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk bertanya atau memberikan pendapat, memberikan penilaian, memberikan pujian, dan mengadakan kompetisi. Faktor pendukung agar tutor dapat penguatan motivasi belajar peserta didik ialah kondisi kesehatan yang baik, komunikasi antar peserta didik, fasilitas yang tersedia, minat juga kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik itu sendiri dan faktor penghambatnya ialah dari lingkungan sosialnya seperti ketergantungan peserta didik terhadap peserta didik lainnya juga kondisi jadwal kegiatan yang bersinggungan dengan kegiatan disekolah. Kata kunci: Motivasi Belajar, Upaya tutor, Peserta didik ABSTRACT The background of this research is that learning motivation is one of the factors of the success of students, with the motivation in students, it will make students more active in the learning process. The learning motivation of students at LBPP LIA Ujung Berung varies, it can be seen from the existence of students who are very diligent so that they get the maximum value there are also students who are less motivated seen from the absences who rarely attend. Efforts made by tutors to increase students motivation to learn is by presenting material with games inserted so that students are comfortable and more active in learning. This makes researchers interested in conducting more in-depth research by raising the title tutor's efforts in increasing learning motivation intermediate level English course participants at LBPP LIA Ujung Berung. This study aims to determine how the motivation of students, the efforts made by the tutor to increase learning motivation and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the tutor in increasing the learning motivation of students. The research method used in this research is to use descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, literature study and documentation. The number of research subjects was six people, namely one course organizer, two tutors, and two course students. From this research, it was found that, in the learning process it was going well, such as the activeness of students in the learning process, The learning motivation of students varies, but there are more students with considerable learning motivation. The efforts that have been made by the tutor to increase the learning motivation of students such as: explaining learning objectives to students, using media as well as tools to support learning, providing opportunities for students to ask questions or give opinions, provide assessments, give praise, and hold competitions. Supporting factors so that tutors can increase students learning motivation are good health conditions, communication between students, available facilities, interest is also the ability of the students themselves and the inhibiting factor is from the social environment such as the dependence of students on other students as well as the conditions of the schedule of activities that intersect with activities at school.
