Abstract

Penguatan pendidikan karakter melalui pendekatan etika integratif sebagai upaya mengurangi perilaku phubbing pada siswa di sekolah menyajikan gagasan fungsional dan langkah-langkah yang dapat dilakukan guru atau orang tua untuk memperkuat karakter moral anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka untuk mengeksplorasi data kajian ilmiah yang dapat memperkuat kembali pendidikan karakter di sekolah dalam cara yang baru, yakni melalui pendekatan etika integratif. Metode yang dipakai adalah studi literatur meta-sintesis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kajian literatur yang sesuai. Sedangkan teknik analisis data adalah dengan menggunakan reduksi, display data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Bentuk/ciri perilaku phubbing yang dilakukan siswa di sekolah adalah bila hampir setiap 10-15 menit selalu mengecek ponselnya tanpa memperhatikan proses pembelajaran atau lawan bicaranya. (2) Program PPK di sekolah lebih menekankan aspek kognisi dari pendidikan nilai dan moral ketimbang integarasi antara aspek kognisi, afeksi, dan motorik peserta didik. (3) Program Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) dengan pendekatan Etika Integratif memadukan 5 nilai karakter utama PPK (religius, nasionalisme, integritas, kemandirian dan kegotongroyongan) dengan mengasah keterampilan etis siswa melalui 5 langkah: menciptakan iklim yang mendukung perilaku moral sampai pada taraf pencapaian tertinggi; mengola sensivitas etis; pedagogi pemula menuju ahli; keterampilan pengaturan-diri; dan membangun dukungan struktur dengan komunitas masyarakat. Kelima langkah tersebut perlu disesuaikan dengan metode dan media yang akan dipakai oleh guru serta tingkat kemampuan sekolah masing-masing. STRENGTHENING CHARACTER EDUCATION THROUGH INTEGRATIVE ETHICAL APPROACH AS A WAY OF REDUCING PHUBBING BEHAVIOR FOR STUDENTS AT SCHOOL Sebastianus Sambi Siti Komariah Wilodati Email: sebastian2018@upi.edu Universitas Pendidikan Indonesian ABSTRACT Strengthening character education through an integrative ethical approach as an effort to reduce students’ phubbing behavior in schools presents functional ideas and steps that teachers or parents can take to strengthen children's moral character. The purpose of this study was to explore literature review in order to strengthen character education in schools in a new way, namely through an integrative ethical approach. Using a meta-synthesis literature study with a qualitative approach as method of the research with data collection technique was carried out with the appropriate literature review. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses reduction, data display, and verification. The results of this study indicate: (1) The form / characteristic of phubbing behavior performed by students at school is that almost every 10-15 minutes they always check their cellphones without paying attention to the learning process or the interlocutor. (2) The Character Education Strengthening (PPK) program in schools over emphasizes the cognitive aspects of value and moral education rather than the integration between the cognitive, affective, and motoric aspects of students. (3) An Integrative Ethics approach combines the 5 main character values of PPK (religiosity, nationalism, integrity, independence and mutual cooperation) by honing students' ethical skills through 5 steps: creating a climate that supports moral behavior to the level of achievement the highest; manage ethical sensitivity; beginner to expert pedagogy; self-regulation skills; and building support structures with communities. The five steps need to be adjusted to the methods and media that will be used by the teacher and the level of ability of each school.
