Abstract
Peserta didik low vision mengalami hambatan dalam membaca tulisan awas, hal ini terjadi juga kepada salah satu peserta didik yang berada di SLBN A pajajaran Kota Bandung. Dengan kondisi tersebut peneliti membuat sebuah alat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membacanya. Dalam skripsi ini peneliti menguji alat bantu baca untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan lampu baca portabel terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca tulisan awas pada peserta didik low vision. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Single Subject Research (SSR). Desain yang digunakan yaitu desain A-B. Subjek penelitian merupakan seorang peserta didik tunanetra low vision kelas 11 di SLBN A Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dengan cara melakukan tes kepada peserta didik menggunakan instrumen membaca lanjutan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif dan ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik dan tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca tulisan awas setelah diberikan lampu baca portabel. Hal ini dapat dilihat dengan nilai yang stabil pada saat intervensi, serta adanya peningkatan nilai tengah (mean) yaitu saat fase baseline memiliki nilai tengah 27,5% ¬serta pada fase intervensi memiliki nilai tengah 81,25%. Pengaruh juga dapat dilihat dari persentase overlap. Presentase overlap antar kondisi baseline dan fase intervensi yaitu 0, yang artinya semakin kecil persentase overlap maka semakin baik pengaruh intervensinya. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa lampu baca portabel dapat digunakan bagi peserta didik low vision yang memiliki kesulitan membaca dalam kondisi kurang cahaya. Dengan demikian peneliti merekomendasikan kepada pihak sekolah dan guru agar memberikan alat bantu lampu baca portabel kepada peserta didik low vision untuk menunjang dalam kegiatan belajar khususnya membaca tulisan awas Kata Kunci: membaca, lampu baca portabel dan peserta didik tunanetra low vision Low vision learners experience obstacles in reading the writing of caution, this happens also to one of the students who are in SLBN A pajajaran Bandung. The data obtained is analyzed through descriptive statistics and displayed in the form of graphs and tables. The results showed a positive influence on improving the ability to read the writing after being given a portable reading light. This can be seen with a stable value at the time of intervention, as well as an increase in the middle value (mean) that is when the baseline phase has a middle value of 27.5% ¬and in the intervention phase has a middle value of 81.25%. The influence can also be seen from the percentage of overlap. The percentage of overlap between the baseline condition and the intervention phase is 0, which means that the smaller the percentage of overlap, the better the effect of the intervention. Based on the data obtained, the researchers concluded that portable reading lamps can be used for low vision learners who have difficulty reading in low light conditions. Thus, researchers recommend to the school and teachers to provide portable reading light aids to low vision learners to support in learning activities, especially reading writings.
