Abstract

Perpustakaan sekolah yang baik harus didasari dengan kompetensi pustakawannya yang mumpuni baik dari segi akademis maupun non akademis nya. Tujuan penelitian ini didasari terhadap masalah yang didapatkan bahwa kompetensi pustakawan di perpustakaan SMA BPI 1 Bandung masih dibilang kurang karena faktor umum yang menyebabkan hal itu bisa terjadi disebabkan tenaga perpustakaannya sendiri masih berasal dari guru honorer yang jam mengajarnya kurang dan hanya 1 pustakawan yang latar belakangnya berasal dari lulusan ilmu perpustakaan, sehingga layanan fasilitas yang diberikan perpustakaan terhadap komponen sekolah masih kurang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang mengacu kepada pedoman perpustakaan sekolah IFLA School Library Manifesto didasari teori evaluasi yang dipakai oleh peneliti yaitu Discrepancy Model yang dikemukakan oleh Malcolm Provus. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan kepada 2 informan yaitu Kepala Perpustakaan dan Pustakawan SMA BPI 1 Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pustakawan SMA BPI 1 Bandung masih berbanding terbalik dengan acuan pedoman perpustakaan sekolah IFLA. Kenyataan dilapangan bahwa kompetensi dan kinerja pustakawan di SMA BPI 1 belum efektif dari segi peranan, kerjasama dengan sekolah dan tupoksi yang dilakukan pustakawan. A good school library must be based on the competence of a qualified librarian, both academically and non-academically. The purpose of this study is based on the problem found that the librarian competence in the library of SMA BPI 1 Bandung is still lacking due to general factors that cause it to occur because the library staff itself still comes from honorary teachers whose teaching hours are lacking and only 1 librarian whose background comes from. from library science graduates, so that the facility services provided by the library to school components are still lacking. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach that refers to the IFLAschool library guidelines School Library Manifesto based on the evaluation theory used by the researcher Discrepancy Model from Malcolm Provus. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation conducted to 2 informants, namely the Head of Library and Librarian SMA BPI 1 Bandung. The results of this study indicate that the librarian competence of SMA BPI 1 Bandung is still inversely proportional to the IFLA school library guideline reference. The reality in the field is that the competence and performance of librarians at SMA BPI 1 has not been effective in terms of roles, cooperation with schools and the main duties and functions of librarians.
