Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh berkembang pesatnya berbagai model literasi. Literasi visual menjadi kompetensi yang harus dipelajari di semua lini pendidikan. Akan tetapi, pembelajaran yang mendukung ke arah pengembangan literasi visual belum optimal. Literasi Visual memiliki beberapa Indikator kemampuan diantaranya menafsirkan visual, membuat visual, mengidentifikasi simbol-simbol visual, sistematis visualisasi, mengartikulasikan elemen gambar, membedakan elemen gambar, penggunaan materi dan teknik secara kreatif. Maka dari itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mencari tahu Persepsi Guru Taman Kanak-kanak di Kecamatan Sumedang Utara tentang literasi visual pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey kepada 65 Guru Taman Kanak-kanak di Kecamatan Sumedang Utara. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan cara angket/kuesioner melalui aplikasi google form. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Hasil survey terhadap 65 responden menyatakan bahwa lebih dari 30 Guru TK menyatakan setuju terhadap literasi visual. Dilihat dari hasil proporsi akhir menyatakan tidak ada guru yang tidak setuju. Hal tersebut terlihat pada persentase proporsi akhir nilai tertinggi sebesar 58,46% yang menyatakan setuju terhadap literasi visual pada anak usia dini.

This research is motivated by the rapid development of various literacy models. Visual literacy is a competency that must be studied in all lines of education. However, learning that supports the direction of visual literacy development is not optimal.Visual literacy has several indicators of ability including interpreting visuals, creating visuals, identifying visual symbols, systematic visualization, articulating image elements, distinguishing image elements, creative use of materials and techniques. Therefore, the aim of this research is to find out the Perceptions of Kindergarten Teachers in Sumedang Utara about visual literacy in early childhood. This research employs a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis techniques. This study uses a survey method to 65 Kindergarten Teachers in Sumedang Utara. The data is collected from a questionnaire taken from Google Form. The results of this study indicate that: The survey results of 65 respondents stated that more than 30 Kindergarten teachers agreed to visual literacy. Based on the findings, the final proportion states that there are no teachers who disagree. This can be seen in the percentage of the final proportion of the highest score of 58.46% which states that they agree with visual literacy in early childhood.
