Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan karakter siswa yang disebabkan oleh tidak patuhnya terhadap aturan yang ada ditata tertib dan peraturan kelas (dalam proses pembelajaran). Hal tersebut mengindikasikan masih rendahnya kepedulian pihak sekolah terhadap karakter siswa. Sebagai upaya untuk mengatasi masalah karakter siswa di sekolah, pengembangan karakter siswa untuk menaati tata tertib dan peraturan kelas (dalam proses pembelajaran) sangat penting. Salah satu cara untuk mengembangkan watak kewarganegaraan di sekolah untuk mengatasi siswa yang tidak menaati tata tertib dan peraturan kelas (dalam proses pembelajaran) yaitu dengan adanya penerapan metode reward dan sanksi. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut peneliti merasa tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian berkenaan dengan masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan watak kewarganegaraan siswa dalam tata tertib dan peraturan kelas melalui penerapan metode reward dan sanksi di SDN Cibiru 09. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: penerapan metode reward dan sanksi pada peraturan kelas (dalam proses pembelajaran) dan tata tertib berjalan dengan cukup baik dan respon siswa yang sangat positif, hambatan penerapan metode reward dan sanksi dalam mengembangkan watak kewarganegaraan yakni bentuk reward dan sanksi yang kurang bervariatif dan kreatif, hasil penerapan metode reward dan sanksi dalam mengembangkan watak kewarganegaraan yaitu dapat memunculkan dan meningkatkan sikap kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, kejujuran dan kemandirian pada diri siswa. ----- This research is motivated by problems with the character of students caused by not obeying the existing rules. and classroom rules (in the learning process). This indicates that the school's concern for student character is still low. In an effort to overcome the problem of student characteristics in school that occurs, the development of student character towards obeying class rules and regulations (in the learning process) is very important. One way to develop the character of citizenship in schools to overcome students who do not obey class rules and regulations (in the learning process) is by implementing the reward and sanction method. Based on this background, the researcher feels interested in conducting research related to this problem. This study aims to determine the development of student citizenship character in classroom rules and regulations through the application of the reward and sanctions method at SDN Cibiru 09. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and literature study. The results showed that: implementation of the reward and sanctions method to the classroom rules (in the learning process) and the rules goes quite well and the student response is very positive, Barriers to implementation of reward and sanctions methods in developing citizenship character are the forms of reward and sanctions that are less varied and creative, the results of implementation of the reward and sanctions method in developing civic disposition, which can raise and improve disciplinary attitudes, responsibility, honesty and independence in students.
