Abstract
Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi dengan guru IPS kelas VIII K di SMP Negeri 40 Bandung terdapat permasalahan yang berkenaan dengan rendahnya rasa percaya diri siswa dalam mengemukakn pendapat. Hal ini tampak dari perilaku siswa yang seringkali diam ketika guru melontarkan pertanyaan, guru hanya menunjuk beberapa siswa saja tanpa melibatkan seluruhnya, hal ini menjadikan siswa lainnya merasa tidak terperhatikan, dan akhirnya mereka merasa tidak percaya diri untuk bertanya dan mengeluarkan pendapatnya. Selama ini proses pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII K bersifat teacher centered. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitaif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Dalam pelaksanaannya, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 3 siklus, karena dalam siklus ketiga peneliti menganggap tujuan penelitian yang diharapkan telah tercapai melalui penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 40 Bandung, sedangkan yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah guru IPS dan siswa kelas VIII K. Berdasarkan hasil temuan di lapangan selama pelaksanaan tindakan siklus I sampai IV rasa percaya diri siswa dalam mengemukakan pendapat semakin meningkat. Dimulai dari pelaksanaan tindakan siklus I secara keseluruhan hasil penilaian aktivitas siswa termasuk kategori “kurang”, hal ini ditunjukan pada saat proses mengemukakan pendapat, siswa yang berpendapat hanya 5 orang, dan kemampuan mengemukakan pendapatnya pun ada yang masih termasuk kategori “cukup”. Pada pelaksanaan tindakan siklus II, siswa yang berani berpendapat sudah meningkat menjadi 11 orang, tetapi dalam kemampuan mengemukakan pendapat masih ada 2 orang siswa yang dikategorikan “cukup” dan selebihnya dikategorikan “baik”. Pada pelaksanaan tindakan siklus III, siswa yang berani mengemukakan pendapat semakin meningkat menjadi 17 orang siswa, tetapi dalam kemampuan mengemukakan pendapat masih ada 6 orang siswa yang termasuk kategori “cukup” dan selebihnya dikategorikan “baik”. Pada pelaksanaan siklus IV atau siklus terakhir, siswa yang berani mengemukakan pendapat semakin meningkat menjadi 19 orang tetapi masih ada 7 orang siswa yang dikategorikan “cukup”, dan 12 dikategorikan “baik”. Sebelum digunakan pendekatan CBSA di kelas VIII K, keberanian siswa dalam mengemukakan pendapat masih dinilai rendah, namun setelah diterapkannya pendekatan Cara Belajar Siswa Aktif (CBSA) dengan menggunakan berbagai macam strategi dan model pembelajaran, keaktifan siswa mengalami peningkatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan di kelas VIII K, diharapkan dapat diadakan suatu penelitian lanjutan dengan pendekatan Cara Belajar Siswa Aktif (CBSA) untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa dalam mengemukakan pendapat di kelas yang berbeda agar diperoleh hasil penelitian yang lebih baik. Based on result of interview and observation to social studies teacher of class VIII K at SMP Negeri 40 Bandung, there are some problems related to the weakness of students confident on deriving opinion. In this case, the are generally passive when theacher gives them some questions, the teacher only chooses several student’s without involving all of student at that class. It makes other students don’t pay attention, so that they don’t feel confident to ask and express their opinion. Nowadays teaching-learning process of social studies at class VIII K is like teacher center. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approach. The methode that is used in this research is classroom action research. On the process, this research is done with three cycles, because at the third cycles the research considers the purpose of the research is expected to be succesfull. Through classroom action research. This research is held at SMP Negeri 40 Bandung, where as the subject of research is theacher of social studies of class VIII K. Based on results finding at that place, since the process of action of cycle to 4, the sense of students confident in deriving opinion is more improve the result of cycle 1, students ability assessment result is still bad. It is shown when prosess of deriving opinion, there are five students who are able to derive opinion. The ability of deriving opinion are still categorized “quite enough” the second cycle process shows , the number of students who can be able to give opinion increase. There are 11 students can do that. Actually, there are 2 students who still don’t have bravery to speak up are still two students are categorized “quite enough” they are, however the other are “good”. The third cycle, the students who have bravery to derive opinions are increasing more to be seventeen students, but on deriving opinion, there are still 6 students who are categorized “quite enough”, and the other are “good”. On the process of cycle IV or the last cycle, the number of students who are brieve to perform their opinion raises to be 19 students, but there are still 7 students who are chategorized “quite enough”, while other 12 students are good. Before the CBSA approach is applied class VIII K, the confidence of students to derive their opinion is valued low, but after CBSA is applied by using various strategy and learning, the student’s anthusiasm is getting improve. Based on the result which is done at class VIII K it is hoped CBSA approach will be applied to improve students self confidence, in order the more good research result can be achieved.
