Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Kesan Darkness pada Komposisi Musik Angklung “Sandekala” Karya Adam Senja” ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui komposisi musik angklung Sandekala. Permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana ide dan proses dari komposisi musik angklung Sandekala. Teori yang diusung dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komposisi musik dan teori bentuk musik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desktriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data-data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui studi literatur berupa partitur, buku-buku yang berkaitan dengan penelitian serta pengumpulan dokumentasi audiovisual dari karya Sandekala. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, ditemukan dua buah faktor yang mempengaruhi komposer dalam proses menemukan ide sehingga terciptanya karya ini yaitu faktor ketertarikan komposer terhadap sebuah fenomena alam yang terjadi di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang dinamakan senja kala atau Sandekala dalam bahasa Sunda serta faktor pengaruh latar belakang komposer yang pada dasarnya merupakan seorang pemain string orchestra sehingga dapat dilihat pada hasil komposisi karya musik ini komposer banyak mengadopsi dari permainan string orchestra khususnya instrumen kontrabass yang mana pada umumnya banyak menggunakan nada rendah yang dibunyikan secara panjang serta bergerak secara paralel yang diterapkan pada beberapa bagian tertentu di dalam karya ini. Dalam proses penyusunan karya komposisi ini, Adam Senja melalui empat tahapan yaitu tahap rangsangan awal komposisi, tahap penentuan penggunaan alat musik pengiring, tahap pencatatan notasi serta yang terakhir yaitu tahap proses latihan bersama para pemain musik. Kata kunci: Komposisi, Angklung, Sandekala The research entitled "Darkness Impression on Angklung Music Composition “Sandekala” by Adam Senja" aims to find out the composition of angklung Sandekala music. The problem in this research is how the ideas and processes of the musical composition of angklung Sandekala. The theories carried in this research are music composition theory and form music theory. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The data in this study were obtained through literature studies in the form of scores, books relating to research and the collection of audiovisual documentation from Sandekala's work. Based on this research, found two factors that influence the composer in the process of finding ideas so that the creation of this work is the composer's interest in a natural phenomenon that occurs in daily life, called dusk kala or Sandekala in Sundanese and the factors influencing the background of the composer which is basically a string orchestra player so that it can be seen in the composition of this musical composition composers adopt from string orchestra games, especially contrabass instruments which generally use low notes which are sounded long and the use of parallel octaves applied to certain parts in in this work. In the process of composing this composition work, Adam Senja went through four stages, namely the initial stimulation stage of the composition, the stage of determining the use of accompaniment musical instruments, the notation recording stage and finally the stage of the training process with the music players.
