Abstract

Pemecahan masalah dalam matematika diperlukan strategi yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang siswa hadapi. Hal ini mendorong penelitian untuk mengkaji bagaimana strategi pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin dikelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mendeskripsikan siswa dalam memilih strategi pemecahan masalah yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal non rutin dan mendeskripsikan alur belajar siswa yang memilih strategi trial and error mengenai Ways of Thinking (WoT) dan Ways of Understanding (WoU). Penelitian dilaksanakan karena dilapangan siswa terbiasa diberikan soal rutin yang dapat mempengaruhi strategi pemecahan masalah siswa yang dipilih. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yang diambil fokus kepada siswa yang memilih strategi trial and error. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa : ada 3 strategi yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin yaitu strategi memilih notasi yang efektif, strategi menulis informasi penting dan strategi trial and error. Alur belajar siswa yang memilih strategi trial and error berbeda-beda, tergantung dari alasan pemecahan yang telah dilakukan siswa. Tidak semua siswa menggunakan strategi trial and error dapat dikatakan error tetapi hasil dilapangan ada 2 orang siswa yang mempunyai pemecahan masalah yang baik, dengan memberikan alasan terkait solusi yang telah dikerjakan oleh siswa. Alasan tersebut dapat menjelaskan bagaimana alur belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal non rutin di kelas 5 sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci : Strategi Pemecahan Masalah, Soal Non Rutin, Alur Belajar. ABSTRACK STUDENTS’ PROBLEM-SOLVING STRATEGIES IN COMPLETING NON-ROUTINE QUESTIONS IN THE TUBE GEOMETRICS MATERIAL IN 5TH GRADES OF PRIMARY SCHOOL By Anisa Nur Kania Al Karim 1606899 Problem solving in mathematics requires a strategy that used to solve the problems that faced by students. This encourages research to examine how students’ problem-solving strategies in completing non-routine questions in the tube geometrics material in 5th grades of primary school. The purpose of this study is to describe the students in choosing problem-solving strategies that used to solve non-routine questions and to describe students’ learning flow who chose trial and error strategies regarding Ways of Thinking (WoT) and Ways of Understanding (WoU). The research was carried out because the fact that students were accustomed to being given routine questions that could affect the students’ chosen problem-solving strategy. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive method. The research subject that were taken focused on the students who chose a trial and error strategy. The result of the study was: there were three strategies used to solve non-routine questions, namely choosing effective notation, writing important information, and trial and error strategy. The learning flow of students who chose a trial and error strategy are varies, depending on the reasons of the solving that students have done. Not all students used the trial and error strategy can be classified as error, however, in the field there were two students who have a good problem-solving, by providing reasons related to the solution that have been done by the students. The reason can define how the students’ learning flow in solving non-routine questions in 5th Grade of Primary School. Keywords: Problem Solving Strategies, Non-Routine Questions, Learning Flow.
