Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan metode peta pikiran berbantuan media grafis terhadap kemampuan menulis narasi siswa sekolah dasar kelas IV. Maka dilakukan penelitian dengan desain kuasi eksperimen (quasi experimental design) yaitu desain kelompok kontrol (nonequivalent control group design). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SD kelas IV Kecamatan Jamblang Kabupaten Cirebon dengan sampel SDN 2 Jamblang sebagai kelas eksperimen, sedangkan SDN 1 Jamblang sebagai kelas kontrol, dengan masing-masing kelas terdiri dari 25 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sangat efektif penggunaan metode peta pikiran berbantuan media grafis terhadap kemampuan menulis narasi siswa sekolah dasar kelas IV. Hasil tersebut ditunjukkan oleh uji perbedaan rerata antara posttest kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan menggunakan metode peta pikiran berbantuan media grafis dan posttest kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran terlangsung dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, dan uji perbedaan rerata antara pretest dan posttest dari kelas eksperimen. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan metode peta pikiran berbantuan media grafis efektif diterapkan di SD kelas IV. Rekomendasi pembelajaran dengan metode ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh kepala sekolah untuk memfasilitasi para guru dengan mengadakan pelatihan guna memperbaiki kualitas dalam pembelajaran menulis narasi dan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, sedangkan rekomendasi untuk guru yaitu penggunaan metode ini sebagai alternatif pembelajaran mengarang, penelitian ini dijadikan materi dalam menulis narasi di sekolah dasar. Kemudian rekomendasi untuk peneliti lanjutan yaitu mencari faktor, variabel atau pun metode yang lain yang menyebabkan rendahnya keterampilan siswa dalam menulis narasi dan bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kualitas keterampilan menulis siswa sekolah dasar kelas IV. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using the mind map method assisted by graphic media on the narrative writing skills of fourth grade elementary school students. Then the research was conducted with a quasi-experimental design (quasi experimental design), namely the control group design (nonequivalent control group design). The subjects of this study were fourth grade elementary school students of Jamblang sub-district, Cirebon regency with a sample of SDN 2 Jamblang as the experimental class, while SDN 1 Jamblang as the control class, with each class consisting of 25 students. The results showed that the use of the mind map method assisted by graphic media was very effective on the narrative writing skills of fourth grade elementary school students. These results are shown by the mean difference test between the experimental class posttest given the treatment using the mind map method assisted by graphic media and the control class posttest using direct learning using the lecture method, and the mean difference test between the pretest and posttest of the experimental class. So, it can be concluded that learning using the mind map method assisted by graphic media is effective in grade IV elementary schools. Recommendations for learning with this method can be used by the principal to facilitate teachers by holding training to improve the quality of learning to write narratives and an effort to improve the quality of education, while recommendations for teachers are the use of this method as an alternative to writing learning, this research is used as material. in writing narratives in elementary school. Then the recommendation for advanced researchers is to look for other factors, variables or methods that cause students' low skills in writing narratives and aim to improve the quality of writing skills of fourth grade elementary school students.
