Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika geometri bangun ruang di SD kelas V masih bersifat konvensional akibatnya siswa sulit memberikan visualisasi obyek geometri dalam pikiran siswa. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan visual spasial siswa, faktor-faktor penyebab rendahnya kemampuan visual spasial siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri bangun ruang dan upaya untuk mengatasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Deskriptif Kualitatif pada analisis kemampuan visual spasial siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri bangun ruang terhadap empat siswa kelas V yang diambil secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes, wawancara dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian melalui tes kemampuan visual spasial menunjukan hasil rata-rata penilaian adalah 0,45% dikategorikan siswa memiliki kemampuan visual spasial yang rendah dikarenakan faktor-faktor penyebab rendahnya kemampuan visual spasial antara lain: 1) Kesulitan dalam menghubungkan pemecahan soal dengan benda-benda konkret, 2) Kesulitan dalam menghubungkan analisis soal cerita dengan penguasaan materi geometri bangun ruang 3) Kesulitan dalam penyelesaian soal geometri bangun ruang dengan menghubungkan ide imajinasi siswa. Adapun upaya untuk mengatasinya antara lain: 1) Pembelajaran bangun ruang yang efektif, kreatif, dan inovatif seperti pembelajaran audio visual dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi, 2) Media pembelajaran gambar dati tayangan video bentuk bangun ruang atau memanfaatkan benda-benda disekitar sebagai media pembelajaran, 3) Memberikan stimulus kepada siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan imajinasi contohnya mengajak siswa bermain puzzel. Learning geometric geometry in elementary school class V is still conventional, as a result students find it difficult to provide visualization of geometric objects in the minds of students. This study was to determine students 'visual spatial abilities, the factors that caused the students' low visual spatial abilities in solving geometric shapes and the efforts to overcome them. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis of students' visual spatial abilities in solving geometrical problems with four class V students who were taken randomly. The instruments used were tests, interviews and observations. Based on the results of the research through the visual spatial ability test, it shows that the average result of the assessment is 0.45%. It is categorized that students have low visual spatial abilities due to the factors causing the low visual spatial ability, including: 1) Difficulty in connecting problem solving with objects concrete, 2) Difficulty in linking the analysis of story problems with mastery of geometry material 3) Difficulty in solving geometric shapes by connecting students' imaginary ideas. Efforts to overcome this include: 1) Effective, creative, and innovative building learning such as audio-visual learning by utilizing technological advances, 2) Image learning media from video shows in the form of building spaces or utilizing surrounding objects as learning media, 3 ) Provide a stimulus to students in increasing their imagination skills, for example inviting students to play puzzels.
