Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena masih rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan kemampuan dasar yang harus dikuasai siswa untuk memahami kemampuan matematis yang lainnya. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan faktor-faktor penyebab kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif kualitatif dalam pembelajaran matematika pada pokok bahasan volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok terhadap empat siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Ciwidey. Pengumpulan data dengan instrumen tes dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa berada dalam kategori C (Cukup) dengan rata-rata hasil akhir sebesar 60% karena kesulitan dalam mendefinisikan konsep, mengklasifikasikan objek, menentukan contoh dan bukan contoh suatu konsep, menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi, mengembangkan prosedur pada suatu konsep, dan mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pemecahan masalah, serta operasi hitung yang disebabkan oleh faktor minat, motivasi, dan intelegensia. The study is on the background because of the lack of ability to understand students mathematical concepts. The ability to understand mathematical concepts is a basic ability that students must overcome to understand other mathematical abilities. The purpose of this study is to understand the ability to understand the students mathematical concepts and the factors underlying the student's mathematical concepts. The kind of qualitative research with qualitative descriptive design in mathematical study on the subject of the building volume of the cube and beam room against four V students in one of the elementary schools of Ciwidey district. Data collection with test and interview instruments. Research has concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students falls in a category c (sufficient) with a nearly 60% outcome average due to the difficulty of defining concepts, classifying objects, determining examples and not examples of concepts, presenting concepts in various forms of representation, developing procedures on a concept, and applying a concept or a problem - solving algorithm, And calculating operations caused by interest, motivation and intelligence factors.
