Abstract
Problem Based Learning (PBL) sebagai model pembelajaran sangat dikenal baik hampir oleh semua guru matematika dan hampir semua guru matematika telah mencoba mengimplementasikan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model PBL. Banyak penelitian tentang implementasi model pembelajaran PBL pada pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan oleh guru dan peneliti dalam pendidikan matematika, namun analisis komprehensif tentang efektivitas model PBL tersebut masih belum banyak ditemukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis effect size dari implementasi model pembelajaran PBL terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Effect size yang diperoleh tersebut digunakan untuk melihat efektivitas implementasi model PBL dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif serta metode yang digunakan ialah systematic review dengan jenis meta analisis. Artikel yang dipilih ialah artikel kuantitatif mengenai pembelajaran matematika di SMP yang menggunakan model PBL sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Peneliti mengumpulkan dan menyeleksi artikel yang relevan. Setelah diseleksi, peneliti mendapatkan 17 artikel yang relevan. Penelitian menemukan bahwa: 1) Nilai effect size dari penggunaan model PBL pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP termasuk kategori yang tinggi, 2) PBL cenderung memiliki pengaruh yang tinggi apabila ditinjau dari keterkaitan aspek kemampuan matematis, materi, penggunaan media, kelas, dan tahun penelitian, 3) PBL paling berpengaruh apabila diterapkan pada materi bilangan, PBL paling berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa, dan penggunaan model PBL dalam pembelajaran matematika berpengaruh lebih tinggi terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa apabila didampingi dengan media pembelajaran. Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a learning model is very well known by almost all mathematics teachers and almost all mathematics teachers have tried to implement mathematics learning using the PBL model. Many studies on the implementation of the PBL learning model in mathematics learning have been carried out by teachers and researchers in mathematics education, but a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of the PBL model is still not widely found. This study was intended to analyze the effect size of the implementation of the PBL learning model on student’s mathematics learning outcomes in Junior High Schools. The result of effect size was used to see the effectiveness of the implementation of the PBL model in mathematics learning. This study was a quantitative research and the method used in this study was a systematic review with the of meta anlysis type. The articles that had been selected were quantitative articles about mathematics learning in junior high schools using the PBL model as an experimental group. The researcher had collected and selected relevant articles. After being selected, there were 17 relevant articles. The study found that: 1) The effect size of the use of the PBL model in mathematics learning in junior high schools is in a high category, the PBL model has higher effect when applied to number material, 2) Implementation of PBL model tends to have a high effect when observed from the relationship between the mathemathical ability, material, use of media, class, and year of research aspects, 3) PBL model has higher effect for improving students 'mathematical reasoning abilities, and the implementation of the PBL model in mathematics learning has a higher effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes when accompanied by learning media.
