Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di Sekolah Dasar. Salah satu faktor yang diduga mempengaruhi rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran, sehingga perlu dicarikan solusi atas permasaahan tersebut. Salah satu solusinya yaitu dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah Pre-Eksperimen dengan one-grup pretest-posttest design. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 4 orang siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes berbentuk uraian sebanyak 6 butir soal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan: 1) Model Problem Based Learning memiliki pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa; 2) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. This research is motivated by the problems of various factors that affect the low mathematical problem solving abilities of students in elementary schools. One of the factors that is thought to affect the low mathematical problem solving ability is the use of learning models that lack opportunities for students to play an active role in learning, so it is necessary to find solutions to these problems. One solution is to use the Problem Based Learning model in mathematics learning. This study aims to see how the influence of the Problem Based Learning model on improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research method is a Pre-Experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects used in this study were 4 fifth grade elementary school students. The research instrument used was a test in the form of a description of 6 items. Based on the results of the study concluded: 1) Model Problem Based Learning has an influence on improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities; 2) Students' mathematical problem solving abilities have improved by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model.
