Abstract
Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada siswa selalu menjadi masalah yang terus dicari solusinya. Beberapa metode dengan berbagai pengembangan telah diterapkan. Salah satu yang peneliti terapkan adalah metode Reading Aloud. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pada analisis kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan metode Reading Aloud. Penelitian bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui gambaran kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan metode Reading Aloud. (2) mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dialami siswa dalam kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan metode Reading Aloud, dan (3) mengidentifikasi upaya-upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan metode Reading Aloud. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas IV di MI Pasirpogor II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa berkualifikasi kurang dan baik ditinjau dari lima komponen kemampuan membaca pemahaman. (2) hambatan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman dengan metode Reading Aloud yaitu kemampuan siswa yang berbeda-beda, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana dan kurangnya aktivitas membaca. Adapun (3) upaya-upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut adalah adanya pembinaan kemampuan membaca, mempermudah akses terhadap bahan bacaan, serta meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas aktivitas membaca. The low reading comprehension ability of students is always a problem that continues to be sought for solutions. Several methods with various developments have been applied. One that the researchers applied is the Reading Aloud method . The focus of this research is on analyzing reading comprehension skills using the Reading Aloud method . The research aims to: (1) determine the description of reading comprehension skills using the Reading Aloud method . (2) identify the obstacles experienced by students in reading comprehension skills using the Reading Aloud method and (3) identify efforts that can be made to overcome the barriers to reading comprehension with the Reading Aloud method. This research is a case study research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were fourth grade students at one of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in West Bandung. The results showed that (1) the students reading comprehension skills had poor and good qualifications in terms of the five components of reading comprehension skills. (2) the obstacles of students in reading comprehension with the Reading Aloud method are the different abilities of students, the lack of facilities and infrastructure and the lack of reading activities. As for (3) efforts that can be made to overcome these obstacles are to guide students reading skills, facilitate access to reading material, and increase the quantity and quality of reading activities.
