Abstract

Dekatnya teknologi dan internet dalam kegiatan sehari-hari, termasuk belajar, membuat cara belajar dalam dunia pendidikan menjadi berubah. Kemungkinan terwujudnya pembelajaran jarak jauh menjadi kenyataan. Namun dengan terbatasnya akses internet dan teknologi, serta guru yang kurang memaksimalkan penggunaan teknologi dan internet dalam pembelajaran, diperlukan adanya strategi pembelajaran yang menggabungkan pembelajaran konvensional dan pembelajaran online. Strategi yang mampu memenuhi cara belajar gabungan tersebut adalah blended learning. Penggunaan internet dan teknologi pada kehidupan sehari-hari tentu merubah cara komunikasi. Era digital ini menuntut setiap siswa untuk mampu berkomunikasi visual. Terutama dalam materi sistem respirasi yang konsepnya abstrak dan memerlukan bantuan visual. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa beserta korelasinya dengan penguasaan konsep, dan membandingkan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan blended learning dengan yang belajar tanpa menggunaakan blended learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Quasi Experiment. Adapun sumber data yang digunakan adalah data kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran blended learning. Data kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa didapat dari tugas poster yang diberikan sebanyak dua kali dengan tema masing-masing. Sedangkan untuk respon pembelajaran didapat dari hasil angket. Ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran blended learning tidaklah memberi dampak terhadap kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa. Kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa pada kelas kontrol lebih unggul dari kelas eksperimen. Selain itu, kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa tidak berkorelasi dengan penguasaan konsep siswa. Siswa berpendapat bahwa pembelajaran blended learning sangat cocok digunakan dalam pembelajaran di era teknologi seperti ini, namun siswa belum terbiasa dengan strategi pembelajaran baru, dan terkadang terkendala pada kuota, sinyal dan memory space smartphone. The close proximity of technology and the internet to daily activities, including learning, has changed the way of learning in the world of education. The possibility of the realization of distance learning becomes a reality. However, with limited internet and technology access, as well as teachers who are not maximizing the use of technology and the internet in learning, a learning strategy that combines conventional learning and online learning is needed. The strategy that is able to fulfill the combined learning method is blended learning. The use of the internet and technology in everyday life certainly changes the way of communication. This digital age requires every student to be able to communicate visually. Especially in the respiration system material, the concept is abstract and requires visual assistance. This study aims to reveal the students' visual communication skills and their correlation with mastery of concepts, and compare between students who learn to use blended learning with those who study without using blended learning. The method used in this study is the Quasi Experiment method. The data source used is the data of students' visual communication skills and student responses to blended learning. Data on students' visual communication skills were obtained from poster assignments given twice with their respective themes. As for the learning response obtained from the results of the questionnaire. It was found that blended learning did not have an impact on students' visual communication skills. The students' visual communication skills in the control class are superior to the experimental class. In addition, students 'visual communication skills do not correlate with students' mastery of concepts. Students argue that blended learning is very suitable for use in learning in this technological era, but students are not yet familiar with new learning strategies, and are sometimes constrained by quota, signal and smartphone memory space.
