Abstract

Penanaman konsep dalam pembelajaran matematika menjadi landasan pengetahuan siswa, bukan sebatas potensi menghitung. Adanya perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki dengan konsep ilmiah menandakan seseorang mengalami miskonsepsi. Sebagai kesatuan dari intelektual, miskonsepsi juga memiliki korelasi dengan gaya kognitif siswa. Adanya penelitian ini untuk memaparkan karakteristik miskonsepsi siswa pada materi bangun segiempat berdasarkan gaya kognitif field dependent di kelas V SDN Sempu 1 dan faktor penyebabnya. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif yang bermetode fenomenologi. Partisipan penelitian yaitu siswa kelas V SDN Sempu 1, dipilih menjadi 2 partisipan berdasarkan siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent serta hasil tes diagnostik miskonsepsi. Menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data seperti tes Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), tes diagnostik miskonsepsi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ditemukan siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent terindikasi mengalami miskonsepsi teoritikal, kurang akuratnya mendefiniskan persegi dan persegi panjang. Kemudian mengalami miskonsepsi klasifikasional, tidak mampu menentukan persegi termasuk persegi panjang, adanya ketidakselarasan antara definisi dengan pilihan kelompok antarbangun, dan adanya kesalahan dalam menentukan persegi termasuk belah ketupat. Terindikasi juga miskonsepsi korelasional, tidak mampu menjelaskan hubungan antarbangun, tidak mampu mengasosiasikan konsep sifat-sifat bangun datar, serta tidak mampu mengutarakan soal yang diberikan. Dari fenomena yang diteliti disimpulkan, karakteristik miskonsepsi siswa pada gaya kognitif field dependent yaitu miskonsepsi teoritikal, miskonsepsi klasifikasional, dan miskonsepsi korelasional. Sedangkan faktor penyebabnya berasal dari siswa, metode mengajar, dan konteks yang terjadi. Giving concept in mathematics learning become basic of students’ knowledge that they are not limitation to calculate potential. There is a difference in the concept of understanding which is owned by the scientific concept, indicating a person has misconceptions. As a unity of intellectual, misconceptions also have correlation to the cognitive style of student. The existence of this research for to expose the characteristics and the cause factor of students’ misconceptions on the material of the rectangular build based on the field dependent cognitive style in the fifth grade of SDN Sempu 1. By using a qualitative research design with phenomenological methods. The research participant is a fifth grade of SDN Sempu 1, that it is summarized by 2 participants based on students who have a field dependent cognitive style as well the result of the misconceptions diagnostic test. Using data collection techniques such as Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), misconceptions diagnostic tests, and interviews. The result of the research was found by students who had the cognitive style of dependent field subjected to theoretical misconception, less accurate, defined square and rectangular. Then, they had a classifying misconception, and could not determine a square rectangle because there is an inconsistency between the definition the selection of the inter building group and the fault of determining the square including the rhombus. They are indicated by correlational misconceptions but also can not explain the relationship between buildings, unable to understand the characters of the flat builds, and unable to express the problems are given. From the researched that it can be conclude of phenomenon, the characteristics of the students misconceptions on the field dependent cognitive style are theoretical misconceptions, classifications misconceptions, and correlational misconceptions. The cause factor comes from the students, the teaching methods, and the context that happened.
