Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa SMA melalui penerapan socioscientific issue dalam model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM), pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Domain literasi sains yang dianalisis terdiri dari domain kompetensi sains dan domain sikap terhadap sains. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode poor experiment. Sampel penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas X SMA program MIPA, dengan melibatkan 33 siswa pada kelas Problem Based Learning dan 33 siswa pada kelas Sains Teknologi Masyarakat. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda untuk domain kompetensi, dan angket skala sikap untuk domain sikap sains serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa terdapat peningkatan literasi sains siswa pada kedua kelas eksperimen. Pada kelas PBL rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,35 (Sedang) untuk domain kompetensi dan 0,30 (Sedang) untuk domain sikap. Pada kelas STM terdapat peningkatan sebesar 0,30 (Sedang) untuk domain kompetensi dan 0,32 (Sedang) pada domain sikap. Uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas dalam pencapaian literasi sains. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan socioscientific issue pada Problem Based Learning dan Sains Teknologi Masyarakat dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. The purpose of this study was to improving senior high school student’s scientific literacy through enhacing Socioscientific Issue on Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Science Technology Society (STM) learning model, on biodiversity topics. The domain of scientific literacy that analyzed were competence of science and sttitude toward science. This study was a quantitative research with poor experimental method. Sample of this research were the X MIPA grade students, involved 33 student on Problem Based Learning experimental class, and 33 students on Science Technologi Society experimental class. The research instrument had used multiple choice for competence of science domain, an attitude scale for student attitude toward science domain, and learning process observation sheet. The reslut showed that N-Gain indeks average for pretset and postest was increased at both experimental class. At Problem Based Learning class, N-Gain average for domain competence of science is 0,35 (medium) and 0,30 (medium) for domain attitude toward science. At Science Technology Society class, N-Gain average for competence of science domain is 0,30 (medium) and 0,32 (medium) for attitude toward science domain. Based on statictis analysis showed that no significan different among scientific literacy at two class. It concluded that implementation of socioscientifis issue on Problem Based Learning and Science Technology Society able to improving student scientific literacy.
