Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas II SDN S di Kota Bandung. Hal ini dikarenakan, pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual untuk neningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas II SDN S di Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi yang dilakukan sebanyak 3 siklus. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II SDN S di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, observasi terbuka, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah pengolahan data kualitatif dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Sedangkan pengolahan data kuantitatif berupa skor hasil tes, rata-rata nilai kelas, persentase ketuntasan kemampuan representasi matematis, dan menghitung peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah meningkatnya nilai rata-rata dan persentase ketuntasan kemampuan matematis dari pra siklus ke siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SDN S di Kota Bandung:---This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical representation of second grade students of SDN S in Bandung City. This is because the learning is still centered on the teacher. To overcome these problems, researchers apply a contextual approach. This study aims to describe the application of contextual approaches to improve the mathematical representation ability of grade II students of SDN S in the city of Bandung. The research method used is Action Research Class Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart which consists of planning, execution, observation and reflection are done as much as 3 cycles. Participants of this research are students of class II SDN S in Bandung. Technique of collecting data in this research is test, open observation, and study of documentation. Data processing used is a qualitative data processing with data reduction stages, data presentation, and verification. While the processing of quantitative data in the form of scoring test results, the average grade value, the percentage of mastery of mathematical representation ability, and calculate the improvement of mathematical representation ability. The findings in this research are the increasing of the average value and the percentage of mathematical ability completeness from pre cycle to cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. The conclusion of this research is the application of contextual approach can improve the mathematical representation of students of SDN S in Bandung City.
