    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi pada kelas VII-B SMP Pasundan 2 Bandung. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi awal, dapat dilihat kurangnya partisipasi peserta didik dalam dalam mengemukakan pendapat, banyak peserta didik yang kurang berani untuk mengacungkan tangan memberikan pendapatnya. Untuk memperbaiki hal tersebut dilakukakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning Tipe Example Non Examples untuk meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengemukakan pendapat pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang diadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan MC Taggart. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sementara teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, catatan lapangan, angket, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penerapan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning Tipe Example Non Examples telah berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengemukakan pendapat pada pembelajaran IPS kelas VII-B SMP Pasundan 2 Bandung. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pelaksanaan penelitian yang dilakukan selama tiga siklus yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan pada setiap siklusnya;---This Research was derived from the problems found in seven grade of SMP Pasundan 2 Bandung. The early observation showed tat students poorly participated ini giving opinions. Most of them were not confident in arguing their opinions. Thus this study was conducted in order to improve the students’ participation through the implementation of problem based learning with example non examples type in social science learning. This study was an action research adapted from Kemmis Mc Taggart model. This study was divided into three phases that are action, designing, observation, and reflection. The techniques of collection data are observation, note taking, questionnaire, interview and documentation study. According to the result, the implementation of problem based learning with example non examples type in social science learning can to improvement towards students’ participation in giving their opinion of students of social studies. It can be seen from the result of research action within three cyces that showed significance improvement in each cycle.
