Abstract
Hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan peneliti menunjukan rendahnya literasi informasi mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Empowering 8 dalam peningkatan literasi informasi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-postest control group design. Penelitian dilakukan di PGSD FIP UPI sebanyak 66 orang, masing-masing 33 orang kelas eksperimen dan 33 orang kelas kontrol. Dengan menggunakan instrument pretest, postest, angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah : a) proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Empowering 8 dengan menerapkan langkah identify, explore, select, organize, create, present, assess, dan apply. ; b) adanya peningkatan yang signifikan literasi informasi mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol ; c) kemampuan literasi informasi berdasarkan ARCL kelas eksperimen dalam kategori tingg. Hal ini menunjukan dengan menerapkan model Empowering 8 pengaruh yang positif terhadap literasi informasi mahasiswa. ;---The results of preliminary studies conducted by researchers showed the low information literacy of students of Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD). This research was conducted to find out the influence of application of Empowering 8 model in increasing student information literacy. This research uses quasi experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted in PGSD FIP UPI as many as 66 people, each of 33 experimental class and 33 control class. By using instrument pretest, postest, questionnaire and observation sheet. The results obtained are: a) learning process by applying Empowering 8 model by applying identify, explore, select, organize, create, present, assess, and apply steps. ; b) a significant increase in student information literacy in the experimental class compared with the control class; c) information literacy capability based on experimental class ARCL in the high category. This shows by applying the Empowering 8 model a positive influence on student information literacy.
