Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di lapangan, masih banyak siswa yang tidak berani untuk menyampaikan pendapat maupun pertanyaan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, pembelajaran terlihat satu arah saja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Time Token. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model desain Kemmis & Mc Taggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus, dengan masing-masing siklus dilaksanakan sebanyak 1 pertemuan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk menilai capaian pembelajaran berupa observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa serta teks kinerja keterampilan berbicara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Time Token. Terbukti dari hasil peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan siswa pada pra siklus sebesar 61,2 setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Time Token pada Siklus I meningkat menjadi 67,4 dan pada Siklus II meningkat menjadi 81. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Time Token dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II sekolah dasar, selain itu model ini dapat digunakan untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada semua siswa untuk berbicara dan menghindari siswa yang mendominasi atau diam sama sekali. ;---This research is motivated by the low level of speaking skills of second grade students of elementary school. Based on observations in the field, there are still many students who do not dare to express opinions or questions in learning activities, learning is seen in one direction only. This study aims to improve students' speaking skills by using Cooperative Learning model type Time Token. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using Kemmis Mc Taggart design model. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, with each cycle carried out by 1 meeting. The research instrument used to assess learning outcomes in the form of observing teacher and student activities and text performance speaking skills. The result of the research showed the improvement of students' speaking skill after applying the Cooperative Learning model of Time Token type, the result of the improvement of the average of students skill in the pre cycle of 61.02 after applying the Time Token learning model in the Cycle I increased to 67.04 and on Cycle II increased to 81. Based on the data it can be concluded that the time token learning model can improve the speaking skills of second grade students of elementary school, in addition this model can be used to provide opportunities to all students to speak and scan students who dominate or silence altogether.
