Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil self-compassion pada siswa underaciever kelas XI di SMAN 11 Bandung. Underachiever menunjukkan kondisi siswa yang kehilangan tujuan dalam berprestasi (achievement goal) yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya perenacaan, penetapan tujuan, manejemen waktu untuk kegiatan belajar dan evaluasi diri. Self-compassion berperan penting dalam achievement goal untuk pembentukan emosi dan kognisi diri siswa karena dapat membantu proses pembelajaran. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan kuisoner, mewawancarai, dan mengobservasi. Subjek penelitian adalah empat orang siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 11 Bandung yang teridentifikasi underachiever yang memiliki IQ yaitu 130+ untuk menjadi patisipan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keempat pertisipan memiliki rendahnya self-compassion yang berarti keempat siswa harus mendapatkan layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk dapat mengembangkan self-compassion pada diri siswa tersebut. Underachiever shows the conditions of the students who are missing the objectives in achieving goals caused by a lack of planning, goal setting, time management for learning activities and evaluation. Therefore, self-compassion plays a significant role in the achievement of goals in the school for self emotion and self-cognition. The research approach uses qualitative. Data collection by questionnaire, interviewing, and observing. The subject of the research is four students of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 11 Bandung that classified as underachiever students yet have a more than 130 IQ. The findings show that the participants have low self-compassion which means they should get guidance and counseling services to be able to develop self-compassion.
