Abstract
Beradasarkan data PISA tahun 2015, Indonesia menempati peringkat 56 dari 65 negara dengan rata-rata nilai sains siswa Indonesia adalah 403 terkategori rendah. Hal tersebut merupakan dampak dari proses pembelajaran yang terpusat pada guru mengakibatkan siswa pasif dalam kegiatan belajar. Dampak lain dari pasifnya siswa dalam proses belajar adalah rendahnya penguasaan konsep. Pada umumnya rendahnya penguasaan konsep siswa dikarenakan siswa yang masih berada dalam proses memahami dan belum mengenali secara utuh letak kesalahan mereka. Siswa dapat mendiagnosa letak kesalahan yang mereka lakukan melalui kegiatan self-diagnosis. Salah satu pendekatan belajar yang dapat melibatkan peran siswa secara aktif adalah pendekatan STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics). Namun, penelitian yang pembelajaran STEM yang melibatkan aktivitas self-diagnosis sangat jarang dijumpai. Maka penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan konsep fisika dan kemampuan self-diagnosis peserta didik pada pendekatan pembelajaran STEM materi hukum Pascal kelas XI SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian One-Group pretest-posttest dengan sampel 30 orang siswa kelas XI SMA dari salah satu sekolah di Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, terdapat peningkatan penguasaan konsep [<g> = 0,51] hasil ujian pre-test ke post-test. Pada kegiatan self-diagnosis diidentifikasi bahwa terdapat perbedaan skor siswa [z = 1,75; p = 0,9599] hasil penilaian peneliti dan hasil self-scoring. Diagnosa diri yang lebih mendalam memicu serangkaian langkah implisit yang mendorong mereka untuk mengatur kembali kognisi mereka dengan cara mempperbaiki letak kesalahan yang mereka lakukan pada saat memecahkan masalah. Sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan STEM yang melibatkan aktivitas self-diagnosis dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep peserta didik. ABSTRACT Based on the 2015 PISA data, Indonesia ranks 56th out of 65 countries with an average scientific scores of 403 Indonesian students is fairly low. This is the impact of the learning process that is teacher centered, that is resulting in passive students in learning activities. Another impact of passive student activities in the learning process is the low mastery of concepts. In general, the low mastery of students' concepts due to students who are still in the process of understanding and not yet fully recognize the location of their mistakes. Students can diagnose the location of their mistakes through self-diagnosis activities. One approach to learning that can actively involve students' roles is the STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) approach. However, studies that study STEM involving self-diagnosis activities are very rarely encountered. Then this study has the aim to find out the increase in mastery of the concepts of physics and self-diagnosis of students in the STEM learning approach to the Pascal class XI high school. This study uses a One-Group pretest-posttest research design with a sample of 30 high school grade XI students from one school in Bandung. Based on the findings, there is an increase in mastery of concepts [<g> = 0.51] pre-test to post-test results. In self-diagnosis activities identified that there are differences in scores student [z = 1.75; p = 0.9599] assessment results of researchers and self-scoring results. Deeper self-diagnosis triggers a series of implicit steps that encourage them to rearrange their cognition by correcting the mistakes they make when solving problems. So that learning activities using the STEM approach that involves self-diagnosis activities can improve students' mastery of concepts.
