Abstract
Legenda Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk merupakan legenda setempat yang berada di Indramayu. Legenda ini berisikan tentang kisah seorang tokoh adipati dari Bagelen bernama Arya Wiralodra yang memiliki cita-cita membangun sebuah negara bagi anak cucunya kelak. Di dalam legenda ini, hadir beberapa pertarungan yang terjadi antara tokoh Arya Wiralodra dengan tokoh lainnya. Pertarungan-pertarungan tersebut sangat dominan di dalam legenda tersebut. Hal itu ditunjukkan ketika Arya Wiralodra sedang mencari keberadaan Kali Cimanuk dan juga ketika membabad alas Kali Cimanuk. Dengan demikian, alasan penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hadirnya pertarungan-pertarungan Arya Wiralodra dengan tokoh lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan setiap analisis yang ada di dalam teks Legenda Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk menganalisisnya dengan terlebih dahulu menganalisis struktur, kontes penutruan, proses penciptaan, fungsi dan makna pertarungan tokoh Arya Wiralodra dengan tokoh lain. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan adanya (1) stuktur Legenda Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk; (2) konteks penuturan berupa konteks situasi dan konteks budaya di dalam legenda tersebut; (3) proses penciptaan berupa peroses pewarisan dan penciptaan legenda tersebut; (4) funsi legenda tersebut berupa sistem proyeksi, alat pendidikan anak, dan hiburan; (5) pertarungan tokoh Arya Wiralodra dengan tokoh alam gaib, dengan tokoh manusia biasa, dan dengan tokoh hewan, serta makna yang tergambar dalam pertarungan-pertarungan tersebut. Makna yang tergambar pada pertarungan-pertarungan tesebut, yaitu membela harga diri, mewujudkan cita-cita, dan membela keluarga. ;---The Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk legend is a local legend in Indramayu. This legend contains the story of a duke from Bagelen named Arya Wiralodra who had a dream of building a country for his future descendants. In this legend, there were several battles that took place between the figure of Arya Wiralodra and other figures. These battles are very dominant in the legend. This was shown when Arya Wiralodra was looking for the existence of Cimanuk River and also when it destroyed the Cimanuk River base. Thus, the reason for this study was motivated by the presence of Arya Wiralodra's battles with other characters. This study aims to describe each analysis in the text of the Legend of Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk. This study used descriptive qualitative method. To analyze it by first analyzing the structure, the contest, the creation process, the function and meaning of the battle of the Arya Wiralodra character with other characters. The results of this study found (1) the structure of the Legend of Babad Alas Kali Cimanuk; (2) the context of the narrative in the form of the context of the situation and cultural context in the legend; (3) the process of creating the form of inheritance and creation of the legend; (4) the legendary function is in the form of a projection system, children's educational equipment, and entertainment; (5) the battle of Arya Wiralodra characters with supernatural characters, with ordinary human figures, and with animal characters, as well as the meanings reflected in these battles. The meaning reflected in these battles is to defend self-esteem, realize ideals and defend the family.
