Abstract

Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh pada studi pendahuluan menunjukan bahwa sains berbasis keterampilan proses sebagai inti dari sains masih jarang dilaksanakan pada pembelajaran di PAUD. Hal ini karena sains belum menjadi prioritas dan adanya keterbatasan Science Pedagogical Content Knowledge (SPCK) yang dimiliki guru. Masalah ini didukung denganterbatasnya sumber belajar mengenai pembelajaran sains yang mudah di akses oleh guru. Sehingga perlu dikembangkan sumber belajar untuk membantu guru meningkatkan SPCK sebagai bekal dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran sains yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan Science Didactical Book (SDB) untuk menjadi pedoman guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran sains. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Educational Design Research denganmodel Reveves yang menggunakan tahap 1) analisis masalah; 2) perancangan dan pengembangan; 3) uji coba berulang; 4) refleksi. Melalui serangkaian langkah tersebut, dihasilkan SDB yang sudah dinilai praktis dan valid oleh praktisi dan ahli.Komponen isi dalam SDB memuat komponen pendahuluan, ruang lingkup materi, pemetaan kegiatan sains, desain pembelajaran sains, dan instrumen asesmen KPS. Selama uji coba pemakaian dan keterlaksanaan SDB oleh guru di kelas,nampak kemampuan guru dalam mendorong anak mengembangkan keterampilan sains melalui pertanyaan, pengamatan, dan percobaan. Hal tersebut menstimulus tumbuhnya keterampilan anak untuk mengamati, melakukan percobaan, membandingkan, mengklasifikasikan, mengurutkan, menggunakan bilangan, mengajukan pertanyaan, melakukan prediksi, menafsirkan, dan mengkomunikasikan. Meskipun keterampilan tersebut belum tumbuh optimal, namun dengan pembiasaan secara bertahap nantinya diharapkan dapat memberikan hasil lebih baik untuk guru maupun untuk anak.;---Based on the data of preliminary study, it has been shown that science based on process rarely carried out in early childhood learning because science has not become a priority and teacher have limitedness of Science Pedagogical Content Knowledge (SPCK).These problemshave been caused by limitednessof learning resources on science learning that are easily accessible by kindergarten’s teachers. Therefore, it is necessary to design and develop a learning resource to help teachers improve their SPCK as a provision in carrying out science learning that can foster young children’s science process skills. The purpose of this research is to develop Science Didactical Book (SDB) to guide teachers in implementing science learning. Educational Design Research(EDR) was used as the methods of this research. This research used Reeeves model with steps 1) problem analysis; 2) designing and developingt; 3) iterative testing; 4) reflection. Through these steps SDB which is consideredvalid and practiced was produced. SDB have a few components, there are preliminary part, scope of material part, mapping of science activities part, science learning design part, and assessment instruments part. During the practically testing by teachers in their class, they showed that they have capability to encourage young children’s science process skills through questioning, observing, and experimenting. These three activities can stimulate the growth of yonung children's skills to observe experiment, compare, classify, interpret, use numbers, ask questions, predict, interpret, and communicate. Although these skills have not grown optimally, but by frequently habituation is expected to provide better results for teachers and for children.
