Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh keprihatinan penulis terhadap minimnya aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas VII-I SMPN 3 Lembang . Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari keaktifan peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran yaitu ; pada saat guru menyampaikan materi siswa tidak memperhatikan guru dengan berbicara sesama teman sebangku dan main hp ; kedua, kemampuan berpendapat dan bertanya siswa masih rendah; ketiga, guru cenderung masih menggunakan metode ceramah dalam menyampaikan materi IPS sehingga siswa terlihat merasa bosan dalam pembelajaran tersebut; dan keempat , cenderung tidak ada respon pada saat guru bertanya seputar materi IPS yang sedang dibahas. Melihat permasalahan tersebut maka peneliti memilih model Cooperatif Learning tipe Time Token sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) , model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart, yang dilakukana melalui empat tahapan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui tiga siklus, siklus pertama persentase yang diperoleh adalah 68,3.% dengan kategori baik . Kemudian di siklus ke dua mengalami peningkatan sebesar 10,4% sehingga persentase yang diperoleh adalah 78,7%. Kemudian di siklus ke tiga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 13,9% sehingga persentase yang diperoleh adalah 92,2%. Sehingga berdasarkan hal tersebut model Cooperatif Learning tipe Time Token dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa. ;--- This study was underlied by researcher’s concern toward lack of students’ activity in learning process in class VII-I SMPN 3 Lembang. The matter could be identified from students’ participation during learning process those were, as teacher deliver learning material, students did not pay attention to the teacher and rather had a talk and on gadget with chairmate; secondly, lack of asking questions and giving opinion; thirdly, teacher intended to use lecturing method in delivering social science material so as to students tended to be bored in the learning process; and fourthly, it tended to there was no response when teacher asked questions about social science material was being discussed. As far as it was concerned, the researcher chose cooperative learning model type time token as a solution to improve students’ learning activity. Meanwhile the category of this study was classroom action research, Kemmis and Mc Taggart model, and was done through four steps.. This study was conducted through three cycles, the percentage of the first cycle was 68.3% at good category. The second cycle was increased 10.4% so as to the percentage was 78.7%. Then the third cycle was increased 13.9% so as to the percentage was 92.2%. Based on the data findings, cooperative learning model type time token can improve students’ learning activity.
